The Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity.  He is coequal and coeternal with the Father and the Son.  He is just as much God as the Father and the Son.  God is a spirit, and those who know God must be able to understand spiritual communication.  The Holy Spirit provides all communication with God.  He is the agent of the Father and the Son.  He makes the Gospel clear to people so they can choose to believe in Jesus Christ for Salvation.  At Salvation He performs Spiritual regeneration and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  He indwells the body of the Christian and fills his soul.  He is God living within us.

God the Holy Spirit is the most familiar member of the Godhead to us.  Since the New Life in Christ must be lived in the filling of the Holy Spirit, it is called the Spiritual life.  Believers are either Spiritual or carnal.  If they are controlled by the Holy Spirit, they are Spiritual.  If they are under the control of the Old Sin Nature, which resides in the body (flesh), they are carnal.

The Holy Spirit is our Counselor in all matters pertaining to the Spiritual life.  He reveals the Father and the Son.  He enlightens, reveals scripture, and teaches.  He sanctifies us and purifies us from all unrighteousness.  He protects us from our enemies (the world, the flesh, and the devil).  He leads, guides, and directs our lives.  He empowers us and strengthens us in the Divine Dynasphere.  He gives us special powers called Spiritual gifts.  As the agent of God the Father, He punishes us.  And He intercedes for us before the Father.

It is the Holy Spirit who gives every believer equal opportunity to succeed in the Spiritual life.  In the Church Age, He enables the common, ordinary believer with the opportunity to advance to Spiritual Maturity and Spiritual Rapport.  He makes the common believer wise and gives strength to the weak.  He comforts those who are suffering and comes to the aid of those who need help.  He is a friend to those in need and a protector to those in danger.  He delivers us from death and enables us to stand on the Rock of our Salvation.

Recognizing the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is Christianity's best kept secret.  Because of His power and impact in the Christian life, Satan has done all in his power to discredit His ministry and deceive the world with counterfeits.  None of the major Christian denominations know how to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and it is impossible to live the Spiritual life without the filling of the Holy Spirit.  And the Pentecostals, who cannot be considered a major Christian denomination because of their apostasy, have substituted the power of the Prostitute of Babylon for the Holy Spirit.  They don't know the difference between Satan and the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is first of all a spirit.  He cannot be felt or heard or seen.  He does not speak, and He does not attract us with light displays like demons.  The reason is that His purpose is not to call attention to Himself but to reveal the Father and the Son and to assist us in learning to live by Grace.  The purpose of the Christian life is not showing off and performing miraculous feats.  It is fellowship with God and living by Grace.  God wants to do something for us, not show off to the world.  God demonstrates his Righteousness, not miraculous lies.

Fellowship with the Holy Spirit is not an emotional binge.  The so-called holy rollers are not filled with the Holy Spirit.  Like the idolaters in the whirling dervishes, they are empowered by demons.  Emotional Revolt of the Soul indicates lack of truth on the cerebral cortex.  It indicates lack of faith and lack of Spiritual power.  God does not have emotion.  He doesn't need it.  It is a sign of weakness.  This is not to advocate stoicism.  It is simply to say that emotion is not spirituality.

Spiritual thinking is beyond soulish thinking.  Words are not used in spiritual communication.  It comes in like Sunlight on a clear day or direct memory access in a computer.  However, interpreting spiritual communication does involve words because we think with words.  The communication from the Holy Spirit, or any other spirit for that matter, must be interpreted by the Word of God.  The Holy Spirit never operates independently of the Word or contradicts the Word.  He does not function apart from the Word.  If you don't know scripture, you will not know the Holy Spirit.

When Spiritual communication is understood, it will be compatible with the Word of God.  The Word is the thinking of Christ and the will of the Father, and the Holy Spirit reveals all truth that is compatible with the Word.  The Holy Spirit will never reveal anything outside of scripture, but He will enlighten on subjects covered in scripture.  The Holy Spirit brings to mind doctrine we have forgotten and draws us to things we need to understand.  He leads and guides us on the roads of the Spiritual life that we should travel.  He is an ever constant companion to reveal all truth to us and direct us in the way we should go.

The Holy Spirit works with our mind and our heart.  The mind is the masculine, objective, left lobe of the soul, which is used for logical thinking.  The heart is the subjective, right lobe of the soul, which is used for love, artistic, and analog functions.  The Holy Spirit reveals the truth of scripture to our minds and pours out the Love for God in our hearts.  He enables us to see Spiritually and to experience Divine Love.  He enables us to have fellowship with the Father and the Son and to Love all mankind.

Without the Holy Spirit, we are spiritually dead and at the mercy of the devil's world.  We are like a computer with no electrical power.  We are lost in the darkness of Cosmos Diabolicus.  We are weak and confused and unable to recognize the lies that surround us.  And we are slaves to Satan's Cosmic System.

The Holy Spirit is our interface to God and His Design for human history.  He reveals our relationship to the Angelic Conflict.  So, what is communicated to us is often more extensive than we would imagine.  He isn't teaching us manners but how to fit into God's Design for the Ages.  His purpose is to help us fulfill our calling from God.  As the producer of Creation, He reveals to us the meaning of God's Predetermined Design.  For example, He may bring an animal or an acquaintance into our life to reveal a truth.  The truth is not revealed by human language but by Divine viewpoint.  For example, a dove may symbolize love, a hawk may symbolize a dictator, or a bear may symbolize Baal.  The Holy Spirit also makes numbers and colors correlate in our life.  He provides the stage of life and synchronizes it with the weather and the planets above.

Maker

The Holy Spirit is the maker, or producer, of all Creation.  What the Father Designed and the Son specified, the Holy Spirit produced.  The Holy Spirit performed the actual work of Creation (Gen 1:1).  After Satan sinned and was sentenced to the Lake of Fire, he appealed the decision.  Consequently, the Earth had to be renovated to prepare for the Appeal Trial.

The Ice Age destroyed life on the Earth in preparation for the re-creation of the Earth for man.

Genesis 1:2
The Earth was waste and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God brooded over the surface of the waters.
During the Ice Age, the Earth was "waste and void," and darkness covered the face of the deep (the ocean) because the Earth was covered in ice.  Then the Holy Spirit brooded over the ice to melt it.  The Hebrew  [j^r* (rachaph) means to brood (Deut 32:11).

During the seven days of re-creation that followed, the Son specified, and the Holy Spirit performed the work.  On the first day, there was light (Gen 1:3).  Everything was then made from light.  On the second day the atmosphere arose (Gen 1:7).  And on the third day the land appeared along with vegetation and trees (Gen 1:12).  Man was created on the sixth day (Gen 1:27), and on the seventh day God rested (Gen 2:3).

CreationThe Holy Spirit not only produced the Universe and gave life to the angels, man, plants, and animals, but He also implements human history per Divine Design (ref. Isa 14:24).  The Holy Spirit makes history unfold as specified by Divine Design.  The Holy Spirit implements the Divine Design Specification (ref. Isa 46:10-11).  He produces all the Son has specified as symbolized by the color Green in the Divine order of Creation.  And as giver of life, He is symbolized by the color yellow.

Counselor and Helper

When Jesus Christ was on Earth in the First Advent, He promised to send the Holy Spirit when He left.  The Holy Spirit would take the place of Jesus as the representative of God to man.  He would be the agent of the Father and the Son.
John 14:16
I (Jesus) will ask the Father, and He will give y'all another Counselor (of the same kind), that He may be with y'all forever;
Jesus would ask the Father to send another of the same kind in His place.  This would be another member of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.  He would be the Counselor and Helper of the believer (ref. Jn 14:26).  The Holy Spirit would be with the believer forever.  He would never go away.  At this time the disciples did not even have the Enduement of the Holy Spirit.
John 15:26 Holy Spirit, Counselor
When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the presence of the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the presence of the Father, He will bear witness in behalf of Me.
Jesus promised to send the Counselor.  He came at the beginning of the Church Age.  He is called the "Spirit of truth."  Truth is Bible Doctrine, which the Holy Spirit will reveal.  The Holy Spirit "proceeds from the presence of the Father" (Jn 14:16, 26).  He will bear witness on behalf of Christ.  He will reveal Jesus Christ to the unbeliever through the Gospel, and He will reveal Jesus Christ to the believer through the Word.
John 16:7
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
Jesus explained to His disciples that it was advantageous for them that He depart.  The Holy Spirit (the Counselor) would not come to them unless Jesus departed.  When Jesus departed this Earth, He would send the Holy Spirit.

After the Resurrection , the Lord Jesus Christ gave his disciples the Enduement of the Holy Spirit before He ascended in order to hold them together until Pentecost (Jn 20:22).  The Enduement was a specific power for a specific purpose.  The Holy Spirit came to the disciples in great power as predicted on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).

Teacher

Spirits are able to communicate with humans through the soul.  However, spirits can only communicate with humans if the spirits so choose.  God is a spirit who chooses not to do so unless the human has Salvation and possesses a human spirit.  The only exception is revelation of the Gospel to the unbeliever to enable him to receive Salvation.  At Salvation the Holy Spirit indwells the Church Age Believer and fills his soul.  The filling of the Holy Spirit means the Holy Spirit controls the believer's soul.  The filling lasts until the believer sins.  It can be restored by Rebound.

When the believer is filled with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit controls his soul and communicates with his human spirit.  The power of the Holy Spirit in the believer is through the filling, not the indwelling.  The indwelling is to provide a temple for the indwelling of the Father and the Son.  This is a badge of royalty to designate the Church Age Believer as a member of the Royal Family of God.  The filling of the Holy Spirit enables the believer to have fellowship with God.  Through the filling of the Holy Spirit, God is able to abide with the believer.  The Holy Spirit abides in the believer's soul.  Through the filling of the Holy Spirit, the believer has the power of God abiding in him.

One of the functions of the filling of the Holy Spirit is teaching the believer (ref. Jn 14:26).  The Holy Spirit is given to every Church Age Believer as his own personal teacher, or tutor.  As teacher the Holy Spirit communicates Spiritually.  He is not seen, heard, or felt.  He does not replace the local Pastor-Teacher but supports him.  He enables the believer to understand Bible Doctrine Spiritually.  He controls the Metabolization Process.1

The human soul has a left lobe for objective thinking and a right lobe for subjective thinking.  Information and knowledge reside in the left lobe and wisdom and understanding reside in the right lobe.  The human soul is able to transfer information from one side to the other.  However, spiritual information cannot be transferred and transformed in the soul without spiritual help.  The Holy Spirit provides the processor for transforming spiritual knowledge into spiritual understanding.

When Bible Doctrine is taught by the Pastor-Teacher, the believer in the filling of the Holy Spirit can believe it on faith.  The Holy Spirit transfers the knowledge in the left lobe to the understanding in the right lobe, where it becomes epignosis, knowledge understood spiritually.  Epignosis is available for Verification Testing or application.  When the believer uses the epignosis to pass the test on the Stage of Life, the Holy Spirit transfers the metabolized Bible Doctrine into the Edification Complex of the Soul.  Thus, the believer grows Spiritually and is given more Capacity for Life and Love.

As teacher, the Holy Spirit also enlightens.  Enlightenment is a form of perception in which the believer is able to see spiritually.  The Light that is seen is Spiritual, not physical.   Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, but that Light is not seen physically.  It is perceived Spiritually through Divine viewpoint.  The Holy Spirit enables the believer to perceive Spiritually and be enlightened (2 Cor 4:18).  The believer who is enlightened is able to come out of the darkness of the world into the Light of God (Isa 60:1, 2).

As teacher, the Holy Spirit does not act independently.  He is subordinate to the Father and Christ (ref. Jn 16:13-15).  He never does anything apart from the Word.

The Holy Spirit is God living in us.  Since God is a spirit, He can only be known spiritually.  The Holy Spirit is our personal interface with God to reveal to us His thinking (ref. 1 Cor 2:9-10). The Holy Spirit abides in us and teaches us all things about God ( ref. 1 Jn 2:27).

1 Thessalonians 4:9
Now, concerning the personal love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.
God provides a special personal Love for fellow Christians (the brethren).  Paul doesn't need to write to the Thessalonians about this because they have been taught by God the Holy Spirit to Love one another (Lev. 19:18).

Revealer of Truth

Human history is God's Creation.  The Holy Spirit did the work of Creation.  He also reveals the truth to believers on their daily walk in life.  Prior to the birth of Christ, the Holy Spirit revealed to Simeon that He would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ (Lk 2:26).  When Jesus' parents came to the Temple in Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord and offer sacrifices, Simeon was led by the Holy Spirit into the Temple (Lk 2:27).  He was endued with the Holy Spirit.  He took the baby Jesus into his arms and praised God and thanked Him for fulfilling his promise (Lk 2:28-32).

Jesus taught about hidden things being revealed.

Luke 12:1-2
1  In these circumstances, after many thousands of people had gathered together so that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2  Moreover there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed and hidden that will not be known."
The leaven of the Pharisees was hypocrisy.  They pretended to be religious, but that was the phony façade of hypocrisy.  Just as leaven affects the whole lump of dough, the Pharisees destroyed whole congregations with their apostasy.  Furthermore, Jesus taught that there is nothing covered up, or concealed, that will not be revealed and nothing is hidden that will not be known.  In other words, the hidden truth will be revealed.  The Holy Spirit reveals the hidden truth.
John 1:9 The True Light
There was the true Light, which coming into the world, enlightens every person.
The "true Light" or "Light of truth" refers to Jesus Christ, the Light of the world (Matt 4:16; Jn 8:12).  Jesus Christ "enlightens every person," and the Holy Spirit reveals the Light of Christ.
John 14:17 The Spirit of truth
the Spirit of truth, whom the world is not able to receive because it does not see Him (the Father) nor does it know Him experientially.  You know Him experientially because He (the Father) abides with you and will be in the sphere of you.
The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of truth.  He only communicates the truth (Jn 16:13).  The world cannot receive the Holy Spirit.  "The world" refers to those in the Cosmic System.  The world cannot receive the Holy Spirit from the Father because the world cannot see  the Father or know Him experientially.  However, the disciples know the Father through experience.  Note, "Him" and "He" do not appear in the original Aramaic.  The disciples know the Father "because He (the Father) abides with you."  "And will be in the sphere of you" – this means the Father will dwell in fellowship with the disciples when they receive the enduement of the Holy Spirit.  "Will be" is not in the original Aramaic, the last phrase can refer to fellowship with the Father through the enduement of the Holy Spirit or it can refer to the Father continuing to be with the disciples.  Granted, it can even be a prophecy of the future indwelling of the Father.  In hindsight that is true.

The Holy Spirit reveals the truth about God the Father (ref. 1 Cor 2:10).  Without the Holy Spirit we cannot know God the Father.

The Holy Spirit enlightens the believer so that he can know his destiny (ref. Eph 3:18).  The Holy Spirit reveals the Father's calling for him and his Escrow Blessings.

The Holy Spirit revealed the mystery doctrine of the Church to the Apostles (Eph 3:4, 5).  The mystery doctrine of the Church was hidden in the Old Testament.  It is now revealed through the epistles to the Church to believers under the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Revealer of the Gospel

The Lord called Paul on the road to Damascus to be a witness for Him and give people the Gospel (Acts 26:15, 16, 17).
Acts 26:18
to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to Light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.
When Paul presented the Gospel to people, the Holy Spirit would open their eyes so they could understand the issue of faith in Jesus Christ for Salvation.  This is the ministry of Common Grace in which the Holy Spirit makes the Gospel clear to the unbeliever, who is without a human spirit and unable to understand Spiritual information.  Those who believe in Jesus Christ turn from the darkness of Satan's Cosmic System to the Light of the Kingdom of God.  At Salvation their sins are forgiven and they are sanctified, which mans set apart from the world and consecrated to God.  They also receive an inheritance.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 Satan Blocks the Gospel Light
3  And even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4  in whose case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that they might not see the Light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Even when the Holy Spirit enlightens the unbeliever to enable him to understand the Gospel, Satan may intervene and blind the person's mind to prevent Him from seeing the Light of the Gospel of Christ.  Therefore, the unbeliever will be unable to recognize the Gospel truth and will remain in darkness.

After the Holy Spirit enlightens an unbeliever with Common Grace and the person believes in Jesus Christ, then he will receive Efficacious Grace, which is effective for Salvation.

Hebrews 6:4
For in the case of those who have once been enlightened (Common Grace) and have tasted the heavenly gift (Efficacious Grace) and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
"Those who have once been enlightened" are the recipients of Common Grace.  "And have tasted the heaven gift (Salvation)" – tasting Salvation means being saved.  This is Efficacious Grace, which is effective for Salvation.  "And have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit" – this refers to the Filling of the Holy Spirit after Salvation.  The next verse is a parenthesis describing Spiritual Growth (Heb 6:5).  And the next verse describes carnal believers who refuse to change their mind (Rebound) (Heb 6:6).  These carnal believers will lose their rewards, but they will not lose their Salvation.  Once Salvation is tasted, it cannot be untasted.

The Unpardonable Sin

Jesus Christ paid for the sins of the world on the Cross so that everyone has the opportunity to be saved.  However, there is one sin for which Christ could not die.  It is the only unpardonable sin.
Hebrews 10:26 Unpardonable Sin
For you see, if we willfully continue sinning, after receiving the full knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice in behalf of sins.
This refers to rejection of the Gospel.  "Receiving the full knowledge of the truth" refers to Common Grace.  "Full knowledge," which is the Greek epignosis, refers to Spiritual understanding of the Gospel through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.  "The truth" is the Gospel.  Those who continue sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the truth (the Gospel) have rejected the Gospel.

"There no longer remains a sacrifice in behalf of sins."  If a person rejects the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, there is no other sacrifice in behalf of his sins.

Hebrews 10:27 Burning in Fire
but a certain frightening expectation of Judgment and fury of fire which will consume the adversaries.
This describes the consequence of rejection of the Gospel after the Holy Spirit makes it clear.  Those who reject the Gospel will burn in fire (Isa 26:11).  This is the Judgment of the Lake of Fire.
Hebrews 10:28 Capital Punishment Under the Law
Anyone having rejected the Law of Moses, dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
Physical death was the penalty for rejecting the Law (Deut 17:2–6).
Hebrews 10:29 Punishment for Rejecting the Gospel
How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and regarded as impure the blood of the Covenant by which he has been sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of Grace?
The punishment for rejecting the Gospel in the Church Age is more severe than capital punishment for rejecting the Mosaic Law.  He "who has trampled under foot the Son of God" – refers to rejection of Jesus Christ as Savior (Y-axis).

"And regarded as impure the blood of the Covenant by which he has been sanctified" – this refers to rejection of the blood of the New Covenant to the Church (Luk 22:20).  This one has considered the Blood of Christ as non-efficacious.  The Blood of Christ is not His literal blood.  He did not bleed to death on the Cross.  The Blood of Christ is a metaphor for His substitutionary spiritual death for the sins of the world.  This is X-axis rejection of the Righteousness of the Blood of Christ.

"And has insulted he Spirit of Grace" – refers to Z-axis rejection of the Holy Spirit at Gospel hearing.  Eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire exceeds capital punishment (physical death) of the Mosaic Law.

Hebrews 10:30 The Lord Punishes
For you see, we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay."  And again, "The Lord will Judge His people."
"Vengeance is Mine; I will repay" – this is a quote from Deuteronomy 32:35 (Rom 12:19).  "And again, 'The Lord will Judge His people' " – this is a quote from Deuteronomy 32:36.  Because the Lord has perfect Justice, He will punish all injustice.
Hebrews 10:31 The Last Judgment
It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
The Last Judgment will be terrible for those who have rejected Jesus Christ as Savior.  Rejection of Jesus Christ as Savior is the unpardonable sin.  If God gives people (or angels) volition, He must allow them to choose where they will spend Eternity.  If they reject Him, they cannot live with Him.  They have chosen to defy the living God.  They have chosen this for themselves, and they have no right to say that God is unfair to them.  God cannot bless their rebellion – not so long as He is God.
Hebrews 10:32 Suffering
But remember the former days, in which, after being enlightened, you endured a great trial of sufferings,
"The former days" refer to the beginning of their Christian life.  "After being enlightened" refers to being enlightened by learning Bible Doctrine after being enlightened at Salvation.  After the early Christians had learned Bible Doctrine, they were subjected to great trials of sufferings.  They had to endure the testing in order to reap their rewards in Time and Eternity.

Y-Axis Fellowship

Producer of Divine Love
Producer of the Mirror in the Soul
Producer of Light and Glory

Producer of Divine Love

God the Holy Spirit produces Divine Love in the soul of the believer.  This is not love of the Holy Spirit for the Father because they share the same Love.  It is Love that is poured out into the believer's soul that belongs to the believer.  The believer can then express that Divine Love to the Father.  It is called reciprocal Love in that the believer responds with this Divine Love to the Love of the Father (ref. Rom 5:5).

When the believer is under the control of the Holy Spirit in the filling of the Holy Spirit, Divine Love is produced in his soul by the Holy Spirit.  This Divine Love can be expressed by the believer to the Father or the Lord Jesus Christ.  It can also be expressed to fellow believers and all mankind.  The believer with Divine Love in his heart is free to express that Love based upon his own volition.

The Divine Love produced in the soul of the believer is called the "fruit (production) of the Spirit" (Gal 5:22).  "Fruit" is the Greek karpos, which literally means fruit and is a metaphor for production.  The fruit of the Spirit which is produced in the soul of the believer includes Love, Happiness, and Peace.  These are all Divine.  They belong to God.  And the Holy Spirit gives them to us.

Producer of the Mirror in the Soul

The Holy Spirit produces the symbolic mirror in the soul to enable the believer to see Christ.  The mirror in the soul is Bible Doctrine in the ECS whereby the believer perceives Christ (ref. 1 Cor. 13:12; 2 Cor 3:18).  The Holy Spirit pulls together the pertinent Bible Doctrine in the soul of the believer to enable him to have Divine viewpoint.  External events are reflected off the mirror of doctrine in the soul to produce Divine viewpoint.

The mirror in the soul only functions in Light, which is also produced by the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit produces the mirror along with the Light for it, and we are able to perceive with Divine viewpoint.  The Holy Spirit lights up our lives.  He also enables our Spiritual eyes to see this Light and the reflections in the mirror (Acts 26:18; Eph 1:18; Heb 12:2; Rev 3:18).

Producer of Light and Glory

God is Light, and in Him is no darkness (1 Jn 1:5).  The Light is Spiritual.  Light is associated with God and darkness with Satan.  The production of Spiritual Light in Creation was symbolized by the Golden Lampstand in the Tabernacle as previously explained.  The olive oil lamps of the Golden Lampstand produced light in the Holy Place.  The olive oil symbolized the Holy Spirit, and the light symbolized Christ.

Just as the olive oil lamps of the Golden Lampstand gave light to the Holy Place, the Lamps from the Control Room in Heaven2 provide the Light of the Design Specification of Christ to the Holy Spirit for production of all Creation.  From the Light, the Holy Spirit produces matter, energy, and life.  The production of God is called Light, and the production of Satan is called darkness.  The Light of God exposes the darkness and reveals the truth about it.

Ephesians 5:13
But all things become visible when they are exposed by the Light, for everything that becomes visible is Light.
The Light of God exposes all things.  When exposed to the Light, even evil, falsehood, and dead works are revealed for what they are.

Those who produce evil are in darkness (Jn 3:20), and those who produce truth (doctrinal production) are in the Light (Jn 3:21).  The Light is Spiritual Light, which is produced by the Holy Spirit.

Job 33:28
He has redeemed my soul from going down into the pit,
And my life shall rejoice in the Light.
The Lord redeems a person's soul from going down to the pit, or grave.  He delivers the soul from death so a person can live and rejoice in the Light.  "In the Light" is in the Light of God.  "Rejoice" is actually the Hebrew ha*r* (ra'ah), which means to see or look at with pleasure.  'Seeing life' is a metaphor for experiencing and enjoying it (Eccles. 9:9, John 3:36).

So, after the Lord delivers a person from the grave (death), he can enjoy life in the Light.  The Light is Spiritual Light from God.  The Spiritual Light of the Holy Spirit produces life and everything on the Stage of Life.

God does all these things to provide a life for man (Job 33:29).

Job 33:30
To bring back his soul from the pit,
That he may be illumined with the Light of life.
Man's soul is brought back from the pit.  "Illumined" is the Hebrew roa ('or), which means to be or become light.  The body is "illumined with the Light of life."  The Light of life is transmitted through the Spirit of human life from God.  The Light of human (biological) life goes through the meridians of the body.  When the Light leaves the body, it is left in the darkness of death.

Christ's Shining Light

Ephesians 5:14 Awakening
For this reason it says,
"Awake, sleeping one,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you."
"It says" introduces a quote from scripture (Isa 26:19; 60:1).

"Awake, sleeping one" – Just as Israel will wake up in the dawning of the new day of the Millennium (Isa 60:1), the Christian should wake up to the New Spiritual Life (Rom 13:11; 1 Thess 5:6).

Actual sleepiness may be caused by lack of capacity for life, alertness, and objectivity due to laziness (Prov 6:9-10), Cosmic System pressure (Matt 26:40-41; Acts 20:9),  demon influence, or pressure from an Elect Angel (Dan 10:9).  Some demons, like the kosmokrator, world ruler, (Eph 6:12), drag people into hypnagogic or hypnotic states.

Tabernacle Plan"Sleeping ones" are those who are not saved or not alert and not living the New Spiritual Life.  They are living in the world outside the Tabernacle.  They need to wake up, which means to accept the Redemption solution.  Per the pattern of the Tabernacle, they must come in the Gate to the Brazen Altar, be saved, and Rebound.

"And arise from the dead" -  "The dead" refers to the spiritually dead (Eph. 2:1).  The principle of Resurrection from the dead (Isa 26:19; Ezek 37:4-10; Jn 5:25-29) corresponds to receiving the New Life at Salvation (Eph 2:5; Rom 6:4-5,13; Col 3:1).  After Salvation the believer should live the new Spiritual life in Christ in the filling of the Spirit (Rom 8:2).

"Arise from the dead" refers to Salvation and Positional Sanctification.  It also refers to Experiential Sanctification after Salvation.  This means living the New Spiritual Life.  It is also the analogy of Resurrection from the dead.  The dead are the unbelievers and reversionists who are living in the devil's world.

"And Christ will shine on you" – This is a general statement about Jesus Christ giving Spiritual Light to mankind.  It is taught throughout the Bible from the first day of Creation.  The phrase about Christ shining on us, however, only appears here.  It is the source of much confusion to theologians, who are themselves unenlightened.  The meaning is defined as follows:

  1. Here the meaning is the same as the Golden Lampstand in the Holy Place, which symbolizes Christ our Light and Christ the Light of the world.  It is the only source of Light from God for Salvation and the Spiritual life.
  2. The Light shines upon and enlightens mankind in real time (Jn 1:5, 9; 2 Pet 1:19).Divine Dynasphere
  3. This is the Light from the eye of Grace in the Divine Dynasphere from the Throne of God with its 7 Lamps (Light), 7 eyes (Grace), 7 horns (Judgment) (Rev 4:5; 5:6).
  4. Jesus Christ is the Light of God, the Y-axis of fellowship with God that includes Love and Light.  Christ is the revelation of the Godhead.
  5. Christ shining on you is a metaphor for the Grace blessing of Spiritual Light provided to the believer and to the Stage of Life.  The believer is blessed by the Light and cursed when the Light is withdrawn.
Additional insight about Christ shining includes the following points:
  1. The Lord gives Spiritual Light to His people (Psa 84:11; Isa 60:19-20; Lk 1:78-79; Rev. 21:23).
  2. Jesus Christ was the Light of the world (Jn 1:9; 8:12; 9:5), and believers are lights in the world (Matt 5:14-16; Lk 11:33-36; Acts 13:47; Eph 5:8; Phil 2:15).
  3. Man is the reflected glory of the Lord (1 Cor. 11:7).
  4. The Spiritual Light of Jesus  Christ will shine in the heart of the Christian who walks in fellowship with Him (Psa 119:105, 130; 2 Cor 4:6; 1 Jn 1:7).
  5. Christ shining on you is revelation (Job 12:22; Dan 2:22; Amos 3:7; Matt 10:26; Jn 1:9; 1 Cor 4:5).
  6. The Resurrection body has glory (1 Cor 15:41-42).
The Light of Christ is shining all the time, but for the believer to see the Light requires entering the Door of Grace Orientation into the Holy Place.  The Golden Lampstand, which symbolizes Christ our Light, is the only source of Light  in the Holy Place.  This corresponds to walking in the Light in the New Spiritual Life.

Enlightenment, which is seeing the Light, will only come when the first two steps of the verse are complete.

Step 1:  "Awake" – be saved, positionally sanctified, and wake up to the New Spiritual Life – Rebound.
Step 2:  "Arise from the Dead" – be saved and be sanctified from the world.  Separate from the world and be experientially sanctified.
Those who are overcome by the world will not perceive the Light of Christ that is shining upon them.

Glory

Man was the crowing glory of God's Creation because he was created in the image, likeness, and glory of God.  Glory generally means honor and praise.

Psalm 8:4-5
4  What is mortal man, that You think of him,
And the son of man that You look after him?
5  You have made him a little lower than God,
And crowned him with glory and honor.
Man was created "a little lower than God."  This is a hierarchical description in which "God" is taken to be the realm of God and His angels.  The verse quoted from the Septuagint has "angels" in place of "God."  It says man was made "a little lower than angels" (Heb 2:7).  Both are correct if man is understood to be lower than God and His angels.  There are heavenly beings and Earthly being.  Man is Earthly.

Man was crowned with glory.  Man was created in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:26).  Man was like God and ruled the world.  "Image of God" means an icon, a representation of God with body, soul, and spirit.  "Likeness of God" means function like God:

  1. The Trinity of God with one invisible essence corresponds to man's body, soul, and spirit.
  2. God is perfect – man was created perfect
  3. The members of the Godhead have unique personalities – man has a unique soul personality
  4. God rules Creation – man ruled the world
  5. God thinks and loves – man had a mind for thinking and a heart for love.
  6. God has free will – man has volition
  7. God communicates with Creation – man can communicate with God and angels.
"Likeness of God" means representative of God.

Man does not wear a crown, but his trichotomous creation symbolizes one who is crowned with glory.  The creation of man carries with it the crown of glory.

Man is crowned with glory "and honor."  Man is honored because of the Grace bestowed upon him in creation.

God created man in the image, likeness, and glory of God.  Man is the model of God's essence.  He has a body, soul, and spirit corresponding to the Trinity.  He possesses the Love (1 Jn 2:5; 4:12, 17), Life, and the Light of God (Jn 1:4; 8:12).  He was placed on the Earth to glorify God (Rom 15:6, 9; 1 Cor 6:20; 10:31), do His will (Heb 13:21), have fellowship with Him (1 Jn 1:7), and demonstrate His Righteousness (Rom 3:5, 25, 26).  Man has the opportunity to be saved and to glorify God to the maximum.  God gives man Life, Light (1 Pet 2:9), and freedom in Grace (Gal 5:1; Rom 6:22).

Psalm 8:6
You caused him to have dominion over the works of Your hands,
You have put all things under his feet:
Man was created as the ruler of the world.  He ruled over all creation on Earth.  However, he lost his rulership when he sinned.
1 Peter 4:14 Spirit of Glory on Believer
If you are reproached for the person of Christ, Happiness belongs to you because the Spirit of Glory, even of God, rests upon you.
"Reproached for the person of Christ" means reproached because of relationship with Christ.  This includes reproach, insults, and persecution due to living the Christian life (Matt 5:11).  "Happiness" is the Greek makavrio" (makarios), which refers to the Happiness of God associated with blessing.  "The Spirit of glory" is the Holy Spirit, who glorifies the believer.  Undeserved suffering leads to undeserved blessing.

Producer of Life

The Holy Spirit produces life.  He produces all life in Creation, including man, angels, and animals.  After the Lord created the Universe, He created angels.  The Holy Spirit gave the angels the spirit of angelic life, which is called metaphorically "the breath of His mouth" (ref. Psa 33:6).  In the Divine order of Creation, the gift of life from the Holy Spirit is symbolized by the color yellow.Creation

The Spirit of Life

The Holy Spirit gives the spirit of life to man just as He gave the spirit of angelic life to angels.

Genesis 2:7
The Lord God sculpted man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the spirit of lives; and man became a living soul.
The Lord personally fashioned, or sculpted, man from dust of the ground.  "Sculpted" is the Hebrew rx^y* (jatsar), meaning to sculpt.  Man's face, body, and features were personally fashioned and shaped by the Lord in conjunction with the Holy Spirit (Psa 139:14).

"Spirit of lives" is the Hebrew hm*v*n+ (neshamah) + <yY!j^ (chajjim).  The first word is the difficult one.  The Hebrew  hm*v*n+ (neshamah) means spirit of life (or soul-life), spark of life (Gen 2:7; Deut 20:16; Josh 10:40; Job 26:4; 27:3; 32:8; 33:4; Prov 20:27; Isa 2:22; 30:33; Psa 18:15; Dan 5:23).  It is an old word that appears in the Aramaic of Daniel as am*v+n! (nishema').  The second word, Hebrew <yY!j^ (chajjim), means lives.  Therefore, the two words together mean "spirit of lives."  Adam was created trichotomous (body, soul, spirit).  He had three types of life:  Biological, soulish, and spiritual.  Thus, the "spirit of lives" is the spirit that produced biological, soulish, and spiritual life in Adam.  Biological life is the life of the cells of Adam's body.  Soul life is the life of the immortal soul.  And spiritual life is the life of Adam's human spirit.

Note "spirit of life" also occurs in the Greek.  When the two witnesses in the Tribulation were killed, "the spirit of life from God came into them, and they stood up" (Rev 11:11).  So, "spirit of life" in the Greek is the same as the Hebrew neshamah.

"And man became a living soul."  "Soul" is the Hebrew vp#n# (nephesh), meaning soul.  The soul set man apart from angels.  Angels are spirits.  They do not have a soul or body.  Man with a body, soul, and spirit was trichotomous, corresponding to God, who is Trinity.  The creation of man was a very dramatic event in the history of Creation.

Animals also have soul life.

Genesis 1:30
"and to every beast of the Earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that creeps on the Earth which has soul life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.
Although animals have souls, their souls are different from man.  And animals have no spirits.  The Holy Spirit also gives soul-life to animals.
Proverbs 20:27
The lamp of the LORD is the spirit of human life,
Searching out all the chambers of the body.
"Spirit of human life" is the Hebrew hm*v*n+ (neshamah) + <d*a* ('adam) (man).  The "spirit of human life" is transmitted from the Heavenly Control Room to give life to the human body.  The lamp of the Lord is the Light transmitted via the spirit of human life (ref. Job 33:30).  The Lord examines (sees in the Light) through the spirit of human life of a person.

"Searching out all the chambers of the body" - the Lord searches out, verifies (tests) all the internal organs of the body (Jer 17:10; Rev 2:23).  The internal organs  correspond to the emotions.3  "Searching" is the Hebrew cp^j* (chapas), meaning to search, test, analyze; test analysis.

Job 33:4
The Spirit from God has made me,
And the spirit of life (neshamah) of the Almighty gives me life.
"The Spirit from God" is the Holy Spirit.  "Made" is the Hebrew hc*u* (`asah), which means to manufacture something out of something.  The Holy Spirit forms the human body.  He begins by combining the DNA and genes.  The Holy Spirit gives life to the body.  This is biological life, which is made by the Spirit.

"Spirit of life" is the hm*v*n+ (neshamah) again.  This is the spirit of human life.  "Almighty" is the Hebrew yD^v^ (Shaddai), which means Almighty or Sovereign; from the Arabic tadyun, breast (Gen 17:1).  The spirit of human life comes from the Almighty as a Sovereign act.  The Almighty is also the breasted One who nurtures.

"Gives me life" is the Hebrew hy*j* (chajah), which means to live; to give life to some one.  This is human soul life.  The "spirit of life" gives life to the soul.  The "spirit of life" comes from the Heavenly Control Room and gives life to the human soul.

Job 34:14-15
14  If He (God) should direct His heart to Himself,
If He should gather His Spirit of human life and His spirit of life (neshamah) to Himself,
15  All flesh would expire together,
And man would return to dust.
This hypothetical considers the case of God taking back His Spirit that gives life.  "If He should direct His heart to Himself" – this is an idiom for God taking back his love for Creation.

"His Spirit" is the Hebrew j^Wr (rucha), which means Spirit of human life.  This is the Holy Spirit, who sustains human life.  And "His spirit of life" is the Hebrew hm*v*n+ (neshamah) again.  If God took back the Spirit who sustains human life and human soul life, then "all flesh would expire together."  Everyone would breathe their last.  The human body would be dead without the soul and life-giving spirit.  Therefore, man would return to dust.

The animals, which the Lord has created, would suffer the same fate.

Psalm 104:29
When You (LORD) hide Your face, they (the animals) are dismayed;
When You take away their spirit of life, they expire
And return to their dust.
The Lord feeds the animals and blesses them (Psa 104:27-28), but when He hides His face from them, they are dismayed.  Hiding the face symbolizes withholding Grace.  When the Lord takes away their "spirit of life," they expire and return to dust (Gen 3:19; Job 10:9; Psa 90:3).  "Spirit" is the Hebrew j^Wr (rucha), which means spirit of life (Gen 6:17; 7:15).  This is the spirit of animal life that comes from the Heavenly Control Room.
Psalm 104:30
When You send forth Your Spirit of life, they are created;
And You renew the face of the ground.
When the Lord sends forth the Spirit of life from the Heavenly Control Room, the animals are created.  "Created" is the Hebrew ar*B* (bara'), which means to create from nothing.  Each animal is created by the Lord, just as humans are created.  Life does not come from other creatures but from God.

"And You renew the face of the ground."  This refers to the annual growth cycles of plants.

Isaiah 57:16
For I will not contend forever,
Nor will I always be angry;
For the spirit of human life would grow faint before Me
And the spirit of life (neshamah) I have made.
The Holy God will not discipline man forever; nor will He always be angry.  "Angry" is an anthropopathism to express God's disapproval of man's sin.  "The spirit of human life" is the Hebrew j^Wr (rucha) again.  God will not punish man forever because "the spirit of human life would grow faint."  Man could not take it.  His body would wilt under the pressure.  "Spirit of life" is the Hebrew hm*v*n+ (neshamah) again.  It refers to soul life.  If God did not slack off on His discipline, the spirit of human life would grow faint as well as the spirit of life of the soul.  Both biological and human soul life would faint.  Man would pass out.

Eternal Life

The Holy Spirit regenerates the believer at Salvation and gives him Eternal Life.

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
The Holy Spirit is called the "Spirit of Life" because He gives the believer Eternal Life at Salvation.  The law of the Spirit of Life refers to the filling of the Holy Spirit, which protects the believer from the power of the Old Sin Nature and provides Spiritual freedom.
1 Corinthians 15:45
So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul."  The last Adam became a Life-giving Spirit.
The first Adam became a living soul (Gen 2:7).  The last Adam (Jesus Christ) became a Life-giving Spirit.  Life-giving refers to giving Eternal Life.  It is the Greek zwopoievw (zoopoieo), from (zwov", life) + (poievw, produce) = to make alive, give life to.  The Lord Jesus Christ gives Eternal Life, which is Spiritual.

Resurrection Life

The Holy Spirit also produces Resurrection Life.

Romans 1:4
who was declared the Son of God by power according to the Spirit of Holiness by the Resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,
The Holy Spirit raised Jesus Christ from the dead and gave life to His Resurrection body.
Romans 8:11 Resurrection
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who indwells you.
The Holy Spirit will raise believers from the dead and give them Resurrection bodies like Christ.

Leading of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit leads the believer in the way he should go.  This is an authority relationship.  The Holy Spirit is like a drill instructor, who gives the orders.  The Holy Spirit directs strategic and tactical advances.  God has a will for our lives, and the Holy Spirit is willing to reveal it step by step.  The Holy Spirit has a say in all that we do, if we are willing to listen.
Romans 8:14
For as many as are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.
The Spirit of God is the Holy Spirit.  Those who are led by the Holy Spirit are the sons of God.  Like children under the authority and watchful care of parents, believers are under the authority of God.  The Holy Spirit leads the believer to obey God.
Galatians 5:18
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
The Galatians who are being led by the Holy Spirit are not under the authority of the Mosaic Law.  Instead they are under Grace in the Church.  The Holy Spirit did not lead the Galatians to obey the Law.  This is X-axis alignment.

Protector

The Holy Spirit protects the believer from his enemies, the world, the flesh, and the devil.  The filling of the Holy Spirit protects from the Old Sin Nature.  The believer is commanded to operate in the filling of the Holy Spirit to avoid the lusts of the flesh (ref. Gal 5:16).  The Old Sin Nature seeks to breach the security system of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit works to keep it in check (Gal 5:17).  The Holy Spirit also produces the Divine Dynasphere, which protects the believer from the Cosmic System.

The Holy Spirit uses an elaborate security system to communicate with the believer and reveal the nature of approaching threats.  The believer who goes through Spiritual Warfare learns to pay attention to the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit performs the reconnaissance and informs the Christian soldier of the existing threats.  The enemy, whether a giant, demon manager, or power, is revealed along with the battle scene.  The Holy Spirit works with the believer to develop a battle plan.  Then the Holy Spirit supports the believer in executing the battle plan.  The Holy Spirit will lead the believer to victory (Rom 8:37).  He will open doors and close them.  And He will draw out the enemy and frustrate his plans.

The Holy Spirit arouses the believer's attention to point out selective events in daily life.  He may arouse him with a slight muscle twitch or a mild pressure or curiosity.  For a crisis, He agitates to bring a sense of trouble or alarm.  Jesus, in the filling of the Holy Spirit, was deeply troubled at the tomb of Lazarus (Jn 11:33), when the time came for Him to go to the Cross (Jn 12:27), and when Judas was about to betray Him (Jn 13:21).  For the crisis, the Holy Spirit may arouse pain, emotions of dismay, worry, fear, or darkness.  The intensity of the agitation corresponds to the intensity of the suffering that lies ahead.

The Holy Spirit in the Church is currently restraining the Antichrist from taking over the world.

2 Thessalonians 2:6
And you know the One (Holy Spirit) who restrains him (man of lawlessness) now, for the purpose that he might be revealed in his own dispensation.
The Holy Spirit is the One who is currently restraining the man of lawlessness (Antichrist) from being revealed as the world ruler.  "Restrains" in the Greek is in the neuter gender, which refers to the Holy Spirit as the subject.  The man of lawlessness will not be revealed until his own dispensation, the Tribulation.
2 Thessalonians 2:7
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only the One (Holy Spirit) who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
The "mystery of lawlessness" is Satan's Cosmic System (Babylon the Great), which is already operational.  The Holy Spirit in the Church will restrain Satan "until He (the Holy Spirit) is taken out of the way" by the Rapture of the Church.

Producer of Winner Believers

The Holy Spirit is the power of God in the winner believer.  The winner believer with the power of the Holy Spirit is able to defeat Satan.
1 John 4:4
You are from God, little children, and you have overcome them because greater is He who is in you (Holy Spirit) than he who is in the world (Satan).
In contrast to antichrists and false teachers, who represent Satan, Church Age Believers are from God.  They have the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit in the believer is greater than "he who is in the world (Satan)."  The filling of the Holy Spirit gives the believer the power to defeat Satan and his evil workers.  The power is in the filling of the Holy Spirit, not the indwelling.

False teachers have evil spirits and teach doctrines of demons.  The demon of the false teacher, antichrist, may attack the believer.  Turning away from the evil spirit and turning to the Holy Spirit of God through the filling of the Holy Spirit (concentration on the Spirit) will overpower the evil spirit.

1 John 5:4 Victory Over the World
Because everyone who has been born from God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our Faith.
The world is the Cosmic System of Satan.  "Everyone who has been born from God" refers to born-again believers.  Believers overcome the world at Salvation, and after Salvation by faith.  "Overcomes" is the Greek nikavw (nikao), which means to be victor, prevail; in a legal action, win.  The winner believer is the one who is able to overcome the Cosmic System.

Jesus overcame the world (ref. Jn 16:33).  The believer who advances through Spiritual Warfare and to Maturity overcomes the world (1 Jn 2:13, 14).  And the believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit can overcome the world (ref. 1 Jn 4:4).

Faith is the power over the Cosmic System (1 Pet 5:9).  Faith to defeat Satan comes from doctrine in the ECS.  See Victory Over Satan.

Prosecutor of the World

In the Appeal Trial of Satan, the Holy Spirit acts as the attorney who prosecutes the world.  The world has rejected God.
John 16:8
And when He (the Holy Spirit) comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and concerning Righteousness and concerning Judgment;
When the Holy Spirit comes at the beginning of the Church Age, He will convict the world.  "Convict" is the Greek ejlevgcw (elegcho), which means to convict or convince someone of something; reprove, correct.  He will convict the world of sin, Righteousness, and Judgment.  "Sin" refers to the sin of unbelief (Jn 16:9).  "Righteousness" is the Greek dikaiosuvnh (dikaiosune), meaning Righteousness; righteous-integrity.  Righteousness is Divine Righteousness, which only comes from God.  The world does not have Righteousness.  "Judgment" refers to the Judgment of Satan and his followers in the Lake of Fire.
John 16:9
concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;
The Holy Spirit will convict the world of the sin of unbelief.
John 16:10
and concerning Righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me;
The Holy Spirit will reveal Righteousness (X-axis Truth), which is the opposite of sin, because Jesus Christ will no longer be on the Earth teaching about Divine Righteousness and being the example of it.  In the absence of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will teach about and reveal Righteousness.
John 16:11
and concerning Judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
Satan has been Judged and sentenced to the Lake of Fire (Matt 25:41; Rev 20:10).  The Holy Spirit will convict the world concerning the Judgment of Satan in the Lake of Fire.

Spiritual Rapport

Spiritual Rapport by its very definition is rapport with the Holy Spirit.  It is rapport with God in the Spiritual life.  Rapport with God improves with maturity, and Spiritual Rapport is the ultimate maturity level beyond Spiritual Maturity (Rom 15:29; Eph 1:23; 3:19; 4:13).  However, any believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit has rapport with God.  Of course, the immature believer has difficulty maintaining rapport with God because of his lack of knowledge and weakness of the flesh.

As the new believer begins to orient to his Salvation and learn Bible Doctrine, he can expect a roller coaster ride from his emotion and the magnification of various sins in his life.  The Spiritual life will be in conflict with the Old Sin Nature.  The growing believer will learn to operate in the filling of the Holy Spirit and minimize time spent in carnality.  This is the beginning of rapport with God through the Holy Spirit.

As the believer grows, he will face friction from the world.  This will hinder Spiritual rapport.  To get through this barrier, he must learn to separate from the world.  Only by leaving the world behind can he be sanctified and have rapport with God.  Those who are slow to separate will face intense conflict with the world (Jas 4:1-4).  The Holy Spirit will bring punishment from God from one side and conflict with the world on the other.  The believer who separates from the world will enter the next level of Spiritual rapport.

In Spiritual Warfare, the believer will be counterattacked by Satan and his demons.  This is another challenge to Spiritual rapport with God.  The Holy Spirit will teach the believer how to fight in Spiritual Warfare.  Only by marching under the direction of the Holy Spirit and rendering implicit obedience to His commands, will the believer be able to win the victory.  As the enemy attacks of Spiritual Warfare are put down, the believer will arrive at the next level of Spiritual rapport.

After Spiritual Warfare comes the testing of suffering.  The Holy Spirit provides the power and the insight to survive the various types of suffering.  Suffering opposes good fellowship and rapport with God.  Punishment is a form of suffering.  Punishment is not considered an expression of love and friendship, but "whom the Lord Loves He punishes" (Heb 12:6).

After suffering is endured, the believer will be promoted to Spiritual Maturity, where there will be rest.

Hebrews 4:1 Rest of Maturity
Therefore, let us fear lest, a promise being unclaimed of entering into His rest, anyone from among you should even think to fall short of it.
From the context, "entering into His rest," refers to entering the Promised Land, which symbolized Spiritual Maturity.  The person who reaches Spiritual Maturity does so on the basis of the promises of God.  He is promoted in Grace, not because of his own works.

"Rest" is a synonym for Spiritual rapport with God.  The Exodus generation did not enter the Promised Land because of unbelief, i.e. disobedience to Bible Doctrine (Heb 4:6).5

Hebrews 4:9 Sabbath Rest
Consequently, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
The Sabbath rest is available in the Church Age.  This rest refers to Spiritual Maturity and Spiritual Rapport.
Hebrews 4:10 Rest from Our Works
For you see, the one who has entered into His rest, has himself also rested from his works, just as God rested from His own works.
"Rest" means resting from human works in order to receive Grace production from God.  It means rest from the enemies of the Christian life, the world, the flesh, and the devil.  Rest refers to the place of rest of Spiritual Maturity with Spiritual rapport with God.  Rest is a place of obedience to the authority of God through faith.

Harmony

Spiritual rapport with God results in harmony with others.
Proverbs 16:7
When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord,
He causes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
"A man's ways" are his strategic and tactical advances in life.  Ways that are pleasing to the Lord are aligned with Him.  The man whose ways are pleasing to the Lord is executing the Spiritual life.  "Pleasing to the Lord" indicates Spiritual rapport.

For the one in Spiritual rapport, the Lord brings peace even with his enemies.  Causes "to be at Peace" is the Hebrew <l#v* (shalem), which means to be reconciled; in harmony; to have peace, friendship with any one.  Thus, Spiritual rapport with the Lord results in harmony with others.  The Holy Spirit makes this happen.

SOS 8:10 Shulamite
I was a wall,
And my breasts were like towers;
Then I became in his eyes
Like one who finds peace.
In summarizing her relationship with her Right Man, the Shulamite woman described herself as a wall and her breasts like towers.4  A wall symbolizes security, and towers are strongholds.  In the eyes of her Shepherd Lover, she was "like one who finds peace."  "Peace" is the Hebrew <wOv* (shalom), which means peace and welfare, harmony.  She appeared to be one who had arrived at peace and prosperity.  This is like one who has weathered the storms of life to find a haven of peace.  This is harmonious rapport with Right Man that comes from Spiritual rapport with God.  It is like what happened to Sarah when she reached Spiritual Maturity (Gen 17:15).  Her name was changed from Sarai (contentious) to Sarah (princess).

Paul and Titus acted alike because they were both walking in the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 12:18
I urged Titus to go, and I sent the brother with him. Titus did not take advantage of you, did he? (No).  Did we not walk by means of the same Spirit and not walk in the same steps? (Yes).
In the context Paul is defending himself to the Corinthian congregation.  He had not previously taken an offering from them.  Now they can't argue that he took advantage of them.  When he heard about the carnality in the Corinthian Church, he sent Titus to them.  Even though Titus took an offering legitimately from the congregation of believers, he did not take advantage of them either, since giving is legitimate.  Paul pointed out that he and Titus both walked by means of the same Spirit.  They were filled with the Holy Spirit.  And they walked in the same steps.  They operated the same way.  They were in Spiritual rapport with God and harmonious rapport with each other.
Ephesians 4:3 Spiritual Rapport
Being diligent to safeguard Spiritual rapport in the sphere of the bond of peace.
Here the word "rapport" is the Greek eJnovth" (enotes), which means unity, unison (in music); and therefore, harmony.  "The harmony of the Spirit" is thus, "Spiritual rapport."

"In the sphere of the bond of peace" – Spiritual rapport with God includes the bond of peace with God and others.  Thus, Spiritual rapport includes harmonious rapport.

Paul encouraged the Philippian congregation to operate in Spiritual rapport and harmonious rapport.

Philippians 1:27
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I might hear about you that you are standing firm in one Spirit, with one soul, striving together for the Faith of the Gospel;
"Standing firm in one Spirit (Holy Spirit)" refers to Spiritual rapport.  "With one soul" refers to harmonious rapport with each other.  They should fight together "for the Faith of the Gospel."  This means they should execute the Spiritual life on the basis of doctrine associated with the Gospel.
Apostasy destroys Spiritual rapport and makes believers the enemies of the Cross.  Rather than living in harmony, apostates are enemies of Christ and doctrinal believers.
Philippians 3:18-19  Apostates
18  For many keep walking, concerning whom I have often told you, and now even weeping I tell you, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ,
19  whose end is destruction; whose god is their stomach and glory is in their shame; whose thinking is about Earthly things.
Apostates are the enemies of the Cross.  They are following Satan.

"Whose end is destruction" – they are headed for the Sin Leading to Death (Time-axis).

"Whose god (idol, Satan, Z-axis) is their stomach (X-axis, Ecumenical Babylon)" – apostates are not under the power of the Holy Spirit.  They are under the influence of the spirit of Satan.  For example, those Christian denominations who do not know how to be filled with the Holy Spirit are not worshipping God. They are praying to Satan.  Prayer to God requires the filling of the Holy Spirit.

Those whose god is their stomach are under the power of Ecumenical Babylon.  They eat false doctrine.  They live in fellowship with Ecumenical Babylon.  Jezebel is the power of Ecumenical Babylon in the Church (Rev 2:20).  This includes all apostates and lawless ones (Matt 7:15; Rom 16:17-18; Gal 1:8; 2 Thess 2:7; 3:14; 2 Ti 3:7; 2 Jn 10).

"And glory is in their shame" – their glory is their Light production (Y-axis) (Matt 5:16; Jn 3:19).  The production of the apostate is shameful – sin, human good, and evil.

"Whose thinking is about Earthly things" – they do not have Spiritual thinking, but human viewpoint (2 Cor 4:18; 1 Jn 2:15) and produce human good and dead works (1 Cor 3:12; Heb 6:1; 9:14; Jas 2:17, 20, 26) rather than Divine Good (Eph 2:10; Col 1:10).  They are slaves (Rom 6:6, 12; Gal 4:9; Titus 3:3) rather than Spiritually transformed (Rom 12:2) and free (Jn 8:32-36; Rom 6:22; Gal 4:7).

The believer should seek harmony with all (1 Thess 5:13; 1 Pet 3:11).

Hebrews 12:14
And pursue peace with all and sanctification, apart from which no one will see the Lord.
"Pursue peace with all" means the believer should try to have harmony with everyone.  This does not mean agreeing with apostates because what comes next is "sanctification."  Sanctification demands separation from sin.  So, pursuing peace means not making waves.  It means not being bitter and reacting to others or doing anything to agitate them.  It means live and let live.  Christians who have Spiritual rapport with God should try to live in peace and harmony with their fellow man.

Peace

Peace refers to tranquility of soul, not world peace.  Peace is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.  Having peace is a sign of alignment of the Time axis with God in the Spiritual life.

Peaceful Sleep

Psalm 4:8 Peaceful Sleep
In peace I will lie down and fall asleep immediately;
For You, LORD, alone, cause me to dwell in security.
Having peace is necessary for a good night's sleep.  Peace means Spiritual rapport.  The one who has peace in his soul will be able to fall asleep immediately.  Anxiety can cause insomnia.  The reason for peace is that the Lord causes the believer to dwell in security.  A person who is frightened about being attacked will not have peace.

This is a strategic promise, not a tactical guarantee.  There can be priority interrupts from God.  And those who do not have peace before going to bed may not have it in bed either.  Failure to finish the day's work, especially the Spiritual issues, can hinder or interfere with sleep.  But, if a person conscientiously executes the Spiritual life and goes to bed in the filling of the Holy Spirit, the Lord will give him a good night's sleep (Lev 26:6; Prov 3:24 Job 11:18-19; Ps 3:5).  And he will wake up refreshed whether he sleeps little or much (Eccl 5:12).

Peace in Battle

Psalm 55:18
He will redeem my soul in peace from the battle which is against me,
For they are many against me.
David depended on the Lord to redeem his soul in peace and safety from the battle.  Here "peace" is the Hebrew <wOv* (shalom), which can mean peace or safety.  David has peace from rapport with God and safety from his enemies in battle.

Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26:3 Spiritual Rapport
The strategically aligned mind You (LORD) will keep in perfect peace (rapport),
For he confidently rests in You.
Understanding this verse from the genius of Isaiah begins with meticulous exegesis.  "Mind" is the Hebrew rx#y@ (jetser), for frame of mind or state of mind.  "Strategically aligned" is the Hebrew Em^s*, (samak), which means to support, uphold, sustain; propped, upheld, i.e. unmoved, firm (Ps. 112:8); steadfast; stabilized, synchronized (in rapport).  The only way to be stabilized in the thinking is to be strategically aligned with God.  There can be no tactical success without strategic alignment.  A person must be on the right road before he can stop at the right destination.

"Peace" is the doubling of the Hebrew <wOv* (shalom), which means peace, safety, welfare, health, prosperity,  completeness, soundness.  The doubling multiplies peace by peace to raise it to a higher power – like the doubling of Grace (Jn 1:16).  Peace with God begins with Reconciliation at Salvation (Lk 2:14) and continues to Spiritual Rapport (Phil 4:7).  The mind with perfect peace will have Spiritual  integrity, which translates into soundness in the life and body.  "Perfect peace" is Spiritual rapport.

"For he confidently rests in You."   The believer can confidently rest because the Lord is in control (Rom 8:31).  "Confidently rests" is the Hebrew jf^B*, (batach), which means to trust; from Arabic to throw one down upon his face (wrestler body slam).  It expresses a sense of well-being and security from having someone in whom to place confidence.  It is always translated in the Septuagint, not by faith but by hope, Greek ejlpivzw (elpizo), for confident expectation.  It is used here with the preposition lu^ (`al) for resting upon.

Uses of batach:

  1. Trust of a husband in a wife of noble character (Prov 31:11).
  2. Contrast of confidence in God with the folly of any other security (Ps 31:14)
  3. Hope in God that brings deliverance from enemies (Ps 22:4)
  4. Bringing answer to prayers (1 Chr 5:20)
  5. Being able to walk in straight paths (Prov 3:5-6)
  6. Bringing security and Happiness (Ps 16:9; 33:21
  7. Bringing inner peace and absence of fear (Ps 4:8; Isa 26:3).
Batach is also used for trusting in false security:
  1. False security (Gen 34:25;  Prov 3:29; Ezk 38:10–11)
  2. In man (Ps 118:8; 146:3; Prov 25:19; Jer 17:5)
  3. In wickedness (Isa 47:10)
  4. Violence and oppression (Ps 55:23; 62:10; Isa 30:12)
  5. Riches (Ps 49:6; 52:7; Prov 11:28)
  6. Idols (Ps 31:6; 115:8; Isa 42:17; Hab 2:18)
  7. Military power (Deut 28:52; Ps 44:6; Isa 31:1; Jer 5:17; Hos 10:13)
  8. Religion (Jer 7:4, 8, 14)
  9. Human righteousness (Ezek 33:13; Hos 10:13)
  10. Foreign alliances (Isa 36:4ff; Ezek 29:16)
  11. Those who live in complacency (Isa 32:9–11; Ezk 30:9; Amos 6:1)
  12. Challenges to Hezekiah's trust in God by Assyrian Rabshakeh (2 Ki 18, 19). The word occurs 20 times here and in the parallel passages (Isa 36–37; 2 Chr 32).

No Peace for the Wicked

Isaiah 48:22
"There is no peace for the wicked," says the LORD.
"Wicked" is the Hebrew uv*r* (rasha` ), which means wicked or  criminal.  The wicked person is the reversionist, who has rejected God and refuses to Rebound.  Reversionists have no peace because they are fighting God (Isa 57:21).  They are like the tossing sea (Isa 57:20).  God also opposes them (Jas 4:6).

Peace in the Millennium

The Lord promises peace in the Millennium when there will be a thousand years of peace.

Isaiah 54:10
"For the mountains may depart and the hills shake;
But My Gracious Love will not depart from you,
And My Covenant of peace will not slip,"
Declares the LORD, who has compassion on you.
The "Covenant of peace" refers to the Millennium when there will be inner peace with God as well as peace on Earth.
Isaiah 55:12 Abundant Happiness
For you will go out in abundant Happiness
And be led forth in peace;
The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you,
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
Those who trust the Lord will be like those in the Millennium.  They will have abundant Happiness from God.  The Lord will lead them in peace.  And the environment will be blessed.  Thus, peace from God comes with Happiness and blessing in nature.  There isn't much peace in a storm.

Resting in Peace

In time of degeneracy in Israel the Righteous one was taken away from the evil of his day.

Isaiah 57:2 Resting in Peace
He enters into peace;
They rest on their biers,
Each one who walked in his alignment (straight way).
The Righteous one entered into peace and rested on his bier.  He rested in peace.  "Bier" is the Hebrew bK*v+m (mishekkab) (2 Chron 16:14).  "Alignment" is the Hebrew j^k)n*! (nakocha), which means straight, right, aligned.  The Righteous one walked in strategic alignment with God under the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Peace for Jews and Gentiles

The Lord will bring Jews and Gentiles who are scattered far and near back into the fold.

Isaiah 57:19 Peace for the Scattered
Creating the praise of the lips.
"Peace, peace to those that are far off, and to those that are near,"
Says the Lord, "And I will heal him."
"The praise of the lips" is literally "the fruit of the lips" in the Hebrew.  This is a metaphor for offering praise and thanksgiving from human lips.  The Lord's future outpouring of Grace will bring praise from the lips.  "Peace" is the Hebrew <wOv* (shalom), meaning peace, safety, welfare, health, prosperity.  It refers to Spiritual rapport.  The repetition of "peace" means peace to those who are scattered far and near.  This applies to Jews, who are near to God, and Gentiles, who are far off (Eph 2:17).

"And I will heal him."  Healing implies Divine healing of a health problem, but it includes peace, safety, restoration, welfare, and prosperity.  Healing begins with God's Spiritual solution.  Peace, which is Spiritual rapport, heals both soul and body.  Spiritual rapport is the solution to:

  1. Problems in the Spiritual life
  2. Soul problems with the mind and heart, Blackout of the Soul, Hardness of the Heart, Reverse Process Reversionism
  3. Physical problems – sickness, disease, weakness, pain, dysfunction

Fruit of the Spirit

Peace is the fruit, or production, of the Holy Spirit.  The believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit will have peace (Gal 5:22).  Peace in the Greek is eijrhvnh (eirene), which means peace and prosperity.  It refers to tranquility of soul.  It is the equivalent of the Hebrew <wOv* (shalom).

Romans 14:17
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but Righteousness and Peace and Happiness in the Holy Spirit.
Life in the Kingdom of God is not satisfaction of physical desires, such as hunger, but Spiritual production, such as Righteousness, Peace, and Happiness.  Spiritual production comes "in the Holy Spirit."  "In the Holy Spirit" can be interpreted as either a locative or instrumental. Thus, it can be translated "in the sphere of", "by means of", or "in fellowship with" "the Holy Spirit."  The production of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer requires the filling of the Holy Spirit.
