Separation at Salvation

1.  The world is Satan's Cosmic System, which is also called Cosmos Diabolicus (the devil's world).
2.  Satan is the ruler of the Earth and its people.
     a.  The Earth and its people are called the world.
     b.  People who are enslaved to Satan are also called the world.
3.  Thus, the world includes the Cosmic System and the people who are enslaved to it.
4.  A person who receives Salvation is taken from the domain of Satan and transferred into the Kingdom of God.  He also receives the Filling of the Holy Spirit.
     a.  When he sins, he loses the Filling of the Holy Spirit, but he does not lose his Salvation.  In a state of sin he is also subject to the influence of the Cosmic System.
     b.  Rebound restores the Filling of the Holy Spirit, and residence in the Divine Dynasphere protects the believer from the Cosmic System.
Satanic Attack5.  Separation from the world means separation from the Cosmic System and the people who are enslaved to it.
6.  Since Satan is a super genius with great power and hoards of demons, escaping the influence of his system is no small feat.  The strongest of believers are reduced to weakness by his system.  Only the Grace and power of God can deliver a believer from Satan's clutches.
7.  Sin enslaves a person to Satan's Cosmic System, and the Redemption solution whereby Christ paid for the sins of the world, frees the believer to live in fellowship with God.
     a.  Faith in Jesus Christ frees a person at Salvation from Satan, and Rebound frees the believer from slavery to sin and the Cosmic System after Salvation.
     b.  The believer should no longer live in sin after Salvation but should live the New Life in the Filling of the Holy Spirit.
8.  Living the New Spiritual Life requires separating from the world.  After Salvation the believer must make daily decisions to choose Good and reject evil.
Tabernacle9.  The Tabernacle was surrounded by a wall of linen to symbolize separation from the world.
    a.  The white linen symbolized sanctification from the world.
    b.  The gate, the only entrance into the Tabernacle, symbolized Christ, the only way of Salvation (Matt 7:14; Jn 14:6).

Separation from the Old Life

1.  After Salvation the believer must live his New Spiritual Life and leave his old life of sin behind.  The old life of sin was crucified on the cross (Mk 10:28-30; Rom 6:4; Gal 2:20; 6:14; Eph 4:22; Col 3:9).
2.  Sin and the Old Sin Nature, which resides in the body, must be rejected (ref. Rom 6:6; Rom 8:13; 13:14; Gal 5:16-17, 24; 1 Pet 2:11).
3.  The New Life is separate from reversionism, which is turning away from God into the Cosmic System (Psa 1:1; 1 Cor 5:11; Eph 5:18; 2 Thess 3:6; 1 Pet 4:3, 4; 2 Pet 2:15, 20-22; Jude 1:11).
4.  There must be separation from religion, which is man's attempt to reach God apart from the Redemption solution.  Christianity is not a religion.  It is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  Religion is a counterfeit system of Satan.  (Matt 7:22-23; 15:9; Rom 2:28-29; 2 Cor 11:13-15; Phil 3:2; Col 2:16-23; 2 Tim 3:1-6; 4:3-4; Rev 2:9; 3:9).
5.  There must be separation from the devil and his Cosmic System (Eph 4:27; Jas 4:7; 1 Pet 5:8-9).
6.  There must be separation from those under the influence of Satan, including the Evil King (1 Ki 16:30; Dan 10:13; Matt 2:1; 12:34; Jn 8:44; Acts 4:27; 12:21; 24:27; 25:13; Rev 17:3, 8), Prostitute of Babylon (Rev 2:20; 17:4, 5, 18), antichrists (1 Jn 2:18, 22; 3:8; 4:3; 2 Jn 7), and evil people (Jn 6:70; 13:2, 27; Acts 5:3).
Cosmic System Attack7.  The Cosmic System2 attacks3 the believer along the X, Y, Z, and Time Axes of the Spiritual Life.
     a.  X-axis – Ecumenical Babylon
     b.  Y-axis – Political Babylon
     c.  Z-axis – Cosmic Babylon
     d.  Time-axis – loss of rapport with God and harmony with Christ.
8.  Those from whom one separates may be put to shame (2 Thess 3:14), but that will be rare.  The purpose of separation is to preserve the integrity of the Spiritual Life of the believer in fellowship with God.  The believer must choose God or Satan.  He cannot serve both (Matt 6:24; Lk 16:13).

Separation from Ecumenical Babylon

Separation is required from Ecumenical Babylon, including:
1.  Apostasy (2 Cor 11:13; 1 Tim 1:19-20; Jude 1:4, 12-13; Rev 2:14).  Apostasy includes rejection of Salvation by Grace and spirituality by Grace.
2.  False doctrine (Eph 5:6; 1 Pet 1:14)
3.  False teachers (Matt 7:15; 2 Pet 2:1, 17-18; 2 Jn 10).
4.  Lies (Psa 41:6; 116:11; Jer 9:4-5; Jn 8:44; Rom 3:4, 10-18).
5.  Flattery (Ps 5:9; 12:2; 62:4; Prov 26:28; 29:5; 1 Thess 2:5).
6.  Not listening to doctrine (Isa 6:10; Matt 13:15; Acts 28:27; 2 Tim 4:3; Heb 5:11).
7.  Not living by doctrine (Rom 12:2; 16:17-18; Phil 3:18; 2 Thess 3:6, 14; 2 Tim 4:4; 1 Jn 2:4).
8.  Hypocrisy (Matt 6:2, 5, 16; 7:5; 15:7; 23:13-29; Mk 12:15; Lk 12:1; Gal 2:13; 1 Tim 4:2; 2 Tim 3:5; Titus 1:16; 1 Pet 2:1).
9.  Those who are not filled with the Holy Spirit and Grace-oriented (Rom 8:5; Gal 5:4, 16; Heb 12:15).
10.  Evil (1 Pet 3:11; 1 Jn 3:12).
11.  Unsanctified (Isa 59:2; 2 Cor 6:17; 2 Tim 3:2).
12.  Dead works (Matt 13:7, 22; 1 Cor 3:12; Heb 6:1; 9:14; Jas 2:17, 20, 26).

Separation from Political Babylon

Separation is required from Political Babylon, including:
1.  Rejection of Right Man – Right Woman, paramours, fornicators (Rom 13:13)
2.  Worldly friendships (Jn 15:19; Jas 4:4) and relationships (Isa 52:11; Jer 50:8; Matt 10:34-39; 1 Cor 15:33; 2 Cor 6:17).
3.  Men pleasers (Gal 1:10).
4.  Not having impersonal love for others (Jas 2:8; 1 Jn 2:10; 4:20-21).
5.  Slavery to details of life (2 Tim 4:10; 1 Jn 2:15-16)
6.  Lovers of money (1 Tim 6:10; 2 Tim 3:2).
7.  Walking in darkness (Jn 3:19; 1 Jn 1:6; 2:11)
8.  Socialism, which is robbing the rich to give to the poor (Heb 10:34).

Separation from Cosmic Babylon

Separation is required from Cosmic Babylon, including:
1.  Rejection of God's Authority (Ex 20:3; Deut 6:13; 13:4; 27:10; Rom 3:18).
2.  Submission to Satan's power (Jn 8:44; 17:15; Eph 2:1-3; Heb 2:14; 1 Jn 5:19).
3.  Idolatry (Ex 20:4-5; Deut 11:16; 1 Cor 10:14, 20-21; 2 Cor 6:14-16; Col 3:5; Rev 2:20).
4.  Grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30; 1 Thess 5:19; 2 Tim 3:5)
5.  Rejection of other authority (Pastor, Right Man, husband, government) (Rom 13:1-7; Heb 13:17).
6.  Slavery to the world (Rom 6:6, 12; Gal 4:9; 2 Tim 2:25-26; Titus 3:3).

Separation from Time Problems

Separation is required from Time problems, including:
1.  Lack of Spiritual Rapport with God and harmony with Christ (2 Cor 6:15).
2.  Lack of harmony with others (Phil 4:2; 1 Pet 3:8).
3.  Contentious partners (Prov 15:17; 17:1; 19:13; 21:9, 19; 25:24; 27:15).
4.  Not waiting for the right time (Eccl 3:1; 1 Pet 5:6).
5.  Jealousy and strife (Rom 2:8; 1 Cor 3:3; 2 Cor 12:20; Jas 3:14).

Exceptions

1.  The believer is not commanded leave the world, such as becoming a hermit or living in a monastery.  He is to be in the world, but not of the world (Jn 17:14, 15, 16).
2.  The believer is not commanded to separate from unbelievers (1 Cor 5:9-10).

Failure to Separate

1.  The consequences of failure to separate from the world amount to forfeiture of the Spiritual life and becoming a casualty in Spiritual Warfare.  Spiritual growth will cease, and Divine punishment will take over.  The believer will not lose his Salvation, but he will forfeit his inheritance, lose his rewards, and die the Sin Leading to Death.
2.  The believer who does not separate from the world, whether from weakness or arrogance, has rejected our merciful God and bowed down to Satan, who despises him.  God will punish him severely, and Satan will try to take him to Hell.
3.  Quarrels and Turmoil
James 4:1 Quarrels and Turmoil
What is the cause of strife and what is the source of quarrels among you?  Are they not caused by your own pleasure-lusts that wage war in your members?
     a.  Failure to handle sin and the lusts of the Old Sin Nature will lead to strife and quarrels with others in the world.
     b.  Life will be like a war zone from the outside and inside.  The believer in the Cosmic System will be surrounded by visible and invisible enemies.  The stress on the body will cause infirmities.
4.  Fighting and Failure
James 4:2
You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. And you are jealous and cannot attain; so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask.
    a.  The lust pattern will be aroused to go into lawlessness, and bitter reaction will drive the person to try to eliminate (murder) his attackers.  He will have quarrels and fights.  Jealousy intensifies the antagonism.
    b.  The prayer life will fail because the person does not even think to pray.  Then he prays with wrong motives out of the will of God, and his prayers are not answered (Jas 4:3).
5.  Spiritual Adultery
James 4:4 Spiritual Adultery
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity toward God?  Therefore whoever wishes to be the friend of the world makes himself the enemy of God.
    a.  Those who do not separate from the world are like adulteresses, who leave their husband for a paramour.  God is like the husband, and Satan is like the paramour.
    c.  Becoming a friend of the world makes the person an enemy of God.
6.  Jealousy vs. the Indwelling Spirit
James 4:5 Jealousy vs. the Indwelling Spirit
Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks to no purpose against jealousy?  The Spirit, which He (God) has caused to dwell in us, yearns over us.
    a.  The sin of jealousy destroys love and intensifies evil desires in the person who is a slave to sin (SOS 8:6; Prov 6:34).
    b.  In contrast, the indwelling Holy Spirit yearns to fill and control us in fellowship.
7.  Grace Promotion/Demotion
James 4:6 Grace Promotion/Demotion
Moreover, He gives greater Grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the arrogant, but He gives Grace to the humble.
    a.  God gives greater Grace (promotion) to the believer who separates from the world and passes the test that he faces.
    b.  In contrast, the arrogant believer does not separate from the world and fails the test.  God opposes him.  This includes Divine punishment and demotion.
    c.  The humble believer resides under God's Authority inside the Divine Dynasphere where he receives Divine Grace to handle the problems and pressures of life.
8.  Resisting the Devil
James 4:7 Resisting the Devil
Therefore, be subordinate to God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
    a.  To handle the attack of the devil, the believer must first submit to God and then resist the devil.
    b.  The power of God will protect the believer, and the devil will flee (1 Jn 4:4).  The devil includes Satan and his demons.
9.  Double-Souled Reversionists
James 4:8
Come near to God, and He will draw near to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-souled.
    a.  If we respond to God, He will have fellowship with us.
    b.  Responding to God requires Rebound, which is symbolized by washing the hands.
    c.  In order to have a love relationship with God, our hearts must be pure and free from the influence of the world.
    d.  Reversionists are double-souled.  They have two sets of priorities.  They want God's blessing, but they love the world and refuse to separate from it.  They vacillate between Grace and moral degeneracy, and between Divine and human solutions.  They are "lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" (2 Ti 3:4).
    e.  The double-souled condition includes Scar Tissue of the Soul (Hardness of the Heart), which is insensitive toward God and receptive to the Cosmic System. Garbage may also accumulate in the subconscious.  This, in turn, weakens pressure points of the Spiritual Body and leads to psychiatric problems and physical infirmities.  Most medical problems stem from Scar Tissue of the Soul, which can only be removed through Experiential Sanctification.
10.  Demotion in Reversionism
James 4:9 Demotion in Reversionism
Be miserable, and mourn, and weep.  Let your laughter be turned into grief, and your joy into depression.
    a.  Failure to separate from the world is the prescription for a miserable life of Divine punishment.  The person in the Cosmic System is guilty and outside the bounds of Grace.  In defiance of God, he is asking for Divine punishment.
    b. "Be miserable, and mourn, and weep" are three stages of Divine punishment.
         - "Be miserable" – warning discipline.
         - "Mourn" – intensified discipline.
         - "Weep" – dying discipline of the Sin Leading to Death.
    c.  "Let your laughter be turned into grief" - this is superficial laughter from foolishness and Frantic Search for Happiness (FSH) – not Divine Happiness from God.  Those who are running around trying to have fun in the world will suffer the consequences and receive grief.  They will not have the blessing of God, but they will receive cursing in the devil's world.
    d.  "And your joy into depression" – happiness from the devil's world will be short lived.  The pleasure of the moment is not worth the displeasure of God.  Depression will result from life in the Cosmic System (Psa 42; Psa 43:5).  The down side of Satan's high is the emptiness of depression.  The only way of true blessing is to separate from the world.
