SCAR TISSUE OF THE SOUL

Scar tissue of the soul, also known as hardness of the heart, makes the monster personality.  It destroys Spiritual Rapport with God and harmonious rapport in marriage.  It destroys Marriage Intimacy Love between the Right Man and Right Woman, leads to Christian degeneracy, and is likely the leading cause of divorce.  If unchecked by the divine solution, it can lead to psychosomatic pain, homosexuality, psychosis, and the psychopathic personality.

A Description of Scar Tissue

A Brief Explanation

Scar tissue of the soul is also called hardness of the heart, the uncircumcised heart, and stubbornness of heart.  It is a divine judgment of the soul that restricts capacity for life and love.  Unlike divine discipline that produces temporary suffering with no lasting side effects, scar tissue of the soul leaves a debilitating loss of capacity for life or love.  However, since it is part of the soul's immaterial essence like emotion, it has no known physical properties.  However, it does restrict the capacity of the soul.  It blocks Spiritual light, which leads to affinity to the Cosmic System as well as soulish and physical ailments.  Psychosis and psychopathic personality are examples of scar tissue of the soul.  Although behavior can be altered by psychotherapy and psychiatric drugs, the only cure for such problems is the divine solution, which requires Rebound and application of Bible Doctrine.

Scar tissue of the soul destroys Spiritual Rapport with God and Marriage Intimacy Love.  It is called hardness of heart because it causes insensitivity in personal relationships.  Like callouses, which destroy the sensitivity of touch, scar tissue of the soul makes the soul insensitive.  Since intimacy requires sensitivity, scar tissue wipes out intimate love relationships.  Although sensuality may be substituted, it will not satisfy the soul.  Only true love will provide contentment.  Illicit alternatives will produce frustration and stress, but they will never provide contentment.

Scar tissue of the soul destroys the love between Right Man and Right Woman while amplifying the attraction of paramours.  It is the primary reason Right Man and Right Woman lose their love for each other.  It explains why some partners become lascivious and seek relationships outside marriage, and why some seek medication to overcome their impotence while others complain of frigidity.  It explains why women can't have orgasms, and men lack capacity for sexual life.  Scar tissue is the culprit, but getting rid of it is no simple matter.

It is God who hardens the heart - i.e. He delivers the judgment of scar tissue of the soul.  For example, homosexuality is the behavior that results from God judging a person with scar tissue of the soul.  Scar tissue of the soul is not sin, and Rebound will not remove it.  What's more, scar tissue is so much a part of a person's soul that it is not separately identifiable - i.e. the person with scar tissue doesn't know he has it.  However, there are clues which indicate the presence of scar tissue.  Among these are insensitivity, loss of love in marriage, and logic reversals such as thinking bad is good and good is bad.  Those who engage in sex outside of marriage for sure have a severe case of scar tissue of the soul.  And those who refuse to Rebound are doomed to be the slaves of scar tissue of the soul.

Criminality, alcoholism, drug addiction, psychosis, homosexuality, and eating disorders, all are fueled by scar tissue of the soul.  The problems are a rejection of the Plan of God and the resulting divine judgment for rejection of the Spiritual solution.  The problems are not hereditary but volitional.  Every person must decide to do these things.  Scar tissue of the soul makes them attractive, whereas, a rational person would reject them.  However, a person in the darkness of the Cosmic System is not always rational.  When scar tissue is present, the senses are dulled and harmful activities become tempting.

True Love Relationships

True Love RelationshipsGod is the source of human life.  Every human soul is sustained by Spiritual life energy from the control room in Heaven.  When a person believes in Jesus Christ, the person is also given a human spirit to which is imputed the Righteousness of God and Eternal Life.  The soul without scar tissue is capable of having a true love relationship with God, which is also called Spiritual Rapport.  In Spiritual Rapport, there will be no hindrance to the human life energy from God.  The human life energy will come into the soul from the top of the head, flow through the body, and exit the feet.  The human life energy will give light to the soul and to the body.

There are at least three life line connections along the center of the cranium.   The main life line enters the top center of the head and goes through the brain stem and spinal column.  The front life line goes through the frontal lobes, the face, and genitals.  The back life line goes through the cerebellum (which controls balance), down the back side of the body and to the anus.  The main life line corresponds to the Z-axis, which is the authority relationship with God.  The front life line corresponds to the positive Y-axis, which is for personal love relationships, e.g. personal love for God and personal love of Right Man for Right Woman.  The back life line corresponds to the negative Y-axis, which is for impersonal love relationships with all mankind.  The person in Spiritual Rapport will love God and express personal love for Right Man or Right Woman while impersonal love will be expressed for wrong man or wrong woman.

Scar Tissue of the Soul

Scar Tissue of the SoulScar tissue of the soul is illustrated by a band of blue, purple, and green light, although there are perhaps many other bands in a layer of scar tissue.  Green represents the trend of the soul toward lawlessness or lasciviousness.  Blue represents the trend toward legalism.  Even a soul with inclinations toward lasciviousness will be covered with the blue facade of self-righteousness, which is legalism.  Hardness of heart describes the blue layer, but beneath every blue layer is a green one.  The purple layer illustrates pride and jealousy, which fuels the split into moral (blue) and immoral (green) degeneracy.  There are other trends of scar tissue, such as worry, which would be represented by red, and darkness, which would be illustrated by gray or black.  Thus, scar tissue may include the complete rainbow of colors that illustrate a category of sin and evil of the soul.

Scar tissue provides affinity for pride, arrogance, and self-righteousness above the purple line, and worry and bitterness below the purple line. Pride and arrogance with scar tissue can fuel mood swings of anxiety (manic), and worry and bitterness can fuel Blackout of the Soul, which causes mood swings of depression, melancholy, and catatonic disorder.  Bipolar disorder is alternation between the pride/arrogance and worry/bitter moods.  These disorders are the result of Divine Punishment, but they are also accompanied by demon oppression.  Demons can cause mental illness, but the problem originates with Divine Punishment.  Schizophrenia, for example, is accompanied by demon oppression, but it begins with Divine Punishment associated with the Cycles of National Cursing (Deut 28:28).

Scar tissue of the soul, however, is not the same as the Old Sin Nature, which is the motivation to sin.  Every cell of the body contains the Old Sin Nature.  In the absence of the Filling of the Holy Spirit, the Old Sin Nature will motivate the thinking and sin will control the life.  Scar tissue of the soul will add fuel to the fire of the soul under the control of the Old Sin Nature.  However, the power of scar tissue of the soul will be thwarted by the Filling of the Holy Spirit.

Since the thinking of scar tissue of the soul rejects God, scar tissue affords easy access to the soul for Satan and his demons.  Those who yield to the power of scar tissue of the soul will be easily influenced by Satan's Cosmic System.  The person with scar tissue will readily accept doctrines of demons and succumb to pressure from the Cosmic System to become a cosmic evangelist and do the devil's bidding.  The behavior associated with scar tissue of the soul will be contrary to the thinking of Christ.  Scar tissue of the soul, therefore, has hooks into the Cosmic System for demon control.

Scar tissue of the soul knocks out the true love relationships with God as well as Right Man or Right Woman.  The person under the influence of scar tissue of the soul will be passionately attracted to a paramour while being devoid of love for Right Man or Right Woman.  The attraction to the paramour is coupled with rejection of true love.  The person with scar tissue of the soul will go for the bait of a paramour and forget the love of Right Man or Right Woman.  When the temptation arises, scar tissue of the soul clouds the thinking and weakens the individual so that a cheap substitute becomes attractive.  When tests are not passed, temptation follows.  When temptation occurs in a person with scar tissue of the soul, the result is almost always succumbing to the temptation rather than having the power to resist.  The one who cannot resist temptation will not be able to resist Satan and his demons.  Scar tissue of the soul leaves a person vulnerable to the devil's lie and desirous of experiencing evil.

Scar tissue of the soul hardens the various parts of the heart (right lobe of the soul) such as conscience, memory storage and retrieval, values, judgment, and viewpoint.  Scar tissue also hinders the circulation of Bible Doctrine in the stream of consciousness.  Scar tissue of the soul is very similar in its effect on the soul to the effects of physical brain damage.  However, it is possible to recover from scar tissue of the soul, whereas physical brain damage may be permanent.

Scar tissue of the soul leads to Blackout of the Soul in which the frontal lobes are darkened and to hardness of the heart in which the influence of legalism covers the heart (right lobe).  The problems in the soul can easily be transmitted into the body.  The blue cerebellum illustrates the problem that scar tissue of the soul creates along the negative Y-axis.  True love of Right Man or Right Woman will be rejected.  Other problems associated with legalism from scar tissue include problems with the balance, hemorrhoids, and constipation.  Black out of the Soul is a problem with the positive Y-axis.  Blacked out frontal lobes are associated with slavery to the details of life, affinity to doctrines of demons, and the absence of Right Man or Right Woman in the thinking.  Resulting problems may be mental (e.g. confusion and lowered intelligence) and physical (e.g. psychosomatic pain, and problems with the viscera, stomach, intestines, and sexuality).  Blackout of the Soul is analogous to not being able to stomach something, digest it, or separate from it.  Blackout of the Soul is the soulish expression of indigestion.

Cosmic Degeneracy

Cosmic DegeneracyScar tissue of the soul blocks out the Spiritual human life energy from filling the soul.  Beneath the scar tissue will be darkness in the frontal lobes and heart.  The darkness in the frontal lobes creates an affinity to the Cosmic System through mataiotes, the vacuum in the soul.  Satan and his demons will have access to the soul through the vacuum to instill their doctrines of demons from Ecumenical Babylon.  Legalistic arrogance will reject the authority of God and succumb to the power of the Cosmic Babylon.  True love will be replaced by Political Babylon, which will accept a cheap substitute for Right Man or Right Woman.  At the same time, legalism along the negative Y-axis will reject the true love for Right Man or Right Woman.
Scar tissue knocks out true love and amplifies pseudo love.
Scar tissue of the soul wipes out the true love of the heart (the right lobe of the soul).  Not only does scar tissue reduce capacity for life, it also weakens capacity for love.  When love loses its strength, there will be vulnerability to temptation.  Minor attractions can be big problems to a person with scar tissue.  Those with scar tissue lack resilience and become a pushover to minor temptations.  Yielding to temptation, leads to reversionism.  The person who succumbs to temptation will quickly fall to the lowest level of reversionism.  Scar tissue, therefore, is a metric of reversionistic behavior.  As the scar tissue is increased, the level of degeneracy in reversionism deepens.

The darkness in the soul from scar tissue makes it impossible to see the problem.  It takes light (or enlightenment) to discern a problem.  Without light, the person with scar tissue is like a blind person who cannot see his faults.

Scar tissue cannot be seen in self.
Scar tissue in the frontal lobes causes logic to be reversed.  Good becomes bad and bad appears good.  False appears true and true appears false.  The person with scar tissue doesn't know what his problem is.  Psychiatry has various names for soul problems and the resulting dementia, e.g. psychosis, neurosis, psychopathy.  Scar tissue of the soul in Biblical terminology is the problem.  The person with scar tissue loses the grip on reality.  What may start as lies may lead to believing one's own lies.  The liar who believes his own lies has scar tissue of the soul.  He doesn't know there is a problem any more than a psychotic knows where unreality begins.  In the early stages, the excursions into unreality may be temporary.  But, if the divine solution is rejected, scar tissue may build up enough to force wider and wider emotional swings until the soul cannot return to reality.

Another example of reversed logic is homosexuality or lesbianism.  Homosexuality is the result of hardness of the heart, or scar tissue of the soul (Romans 1:26-27).  The scar tissue is due to the judgment of God.  Homosexuality then follows based upon a person's decision to sin in violation of Marriage Culture.  Scar tissue of the soul makes members of the same sex attractive, which is contrary to nature.  Scar tissue of the soul reverses mental logic due to darkness in the frontal lobes (Blackout of the Soul).

The Divine Solution

Rebound and the Filling of the Holy Spirit will neutralize the power of scar tissue of the soul until the believer sins again.  Upon sinning, the Old Sin Nature will immediately take control of the soul and yield to the power of the scar tissue.  The Christian who alternates between the Filling of the Holy Spirit and carnality is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.  When scar tissue of the soul is allowed to rule the soul, the Christian may become a monster.
The carnal Christian under the control of scar tissue of the soul may become a monster.
Rebound is the first step toward recovery.  The only way to overcome the subtle illusions of scar tissue of the soul, however, is to execute the Spiritual Life.  Execution of the Spiritual Life demands the daily metabolization of Bible Doctrine and deployment of the Problem Solving Devices.  Whereas, metabolization of Bible Doctrine is necessary for Spiritual growth, it is not the means of removal of scar tissue.  Only God can remove scar tissue of the soul because it came from divine discipline in the first place.  Scar tissue is like a judicial sentence that must be fulfilled.  God will remove scar tissue from the soul when the believer submits to His authority and responds to divine discipline.  Suffering is usually the means of removing scar tissue.  When  divine discipline or suffering are ridden out in the Filling of the Holy Spirit, the discipline or suffering will be converted to blessing and scar tissue will be removed.  When the sentence is fulfilled, there will be the promotion of more grace.

Recovery from scar tissue demands that Rebound be used immediately after sinning.  Otherwise, going into reversionism can leave more scar tissue on the soul.  In order to advance spiritually, the believer must be willing to admit his sins to God.  Rejecting Rebound will take the carnal believer deeper into reversionism and away from Spiritual Maturity.

To overcome scar tissue of the soul:  Rebound and keep moving!
Even in Spiritual Maturity, which is the adult phase of the Spiritual Life, the Christian can have scar tissue of the soul.  David's sins with Bathsheba came after he had reached Spiritual Maturity.  When David neglected Rebound, the Old Sin Nature took control of his soul and scar tissue overpowered his behavior so that he yielded to the temptation of adultery.  In adultery he was the pawn of Satan as the goddess of love.  After his adultery David still refused to Rebound and his scar tissue influenced him to have Uriah murdered.  As a murderer, David was the pawn of Satan, the god of war.

Scar Tissue and Divorce

Divorce in the Exodus Generation

The demand for divorces was so high in the Exodus generation that the court system was swamped.  A law was therefore added to allow a man to divorce an unfaithful wife by writing the divorce certificate himself.  Legitimate grounds for divorce were supposed to be according to Deuteronomy 24:1, cases of illicit sex, where the Hebrew `erewath means pudenda, nakedness, and refers to the genitals being exposed for sex.  The word is erroneously translated, indecency.  However, the men, who were vested with the legal power to divorce, abused the system and got rid of their older wives to marry younger ones as in Malachi 2:13-16, which is one of the last descriptions of the state of Marriage Culture in Israel before Christ came on the scene 400 years later.  Note, in the passage, "deal treacherously" refers to divorce.

During His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ taught about Marriage Culture and the problem of divorce (Matthew 5:31-32).  This upset the Pharisees, the legalists of the day, who had scar tissue of the soul.  So, they questioned the Lord on the fine points of divorce law.

And Pharisees came to Him (Jesus), testing Him, and asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause at all?” (Matthew 19:3)
The Lord Jesus Christ responded by going back to the principle of Marriage Culture and explaining that the Plan of God did not include divorce in the first place.  Divorce goes against the principle of Right Man - Right Woman in Marriage Culture.
Matthew 19:4-6
4 And He answered and said, “Have you not read, that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall have sex with his wife; and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 “Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
The Lord's answer was a review of the doctrine of marriage.  When Adam was created, his physical body was made for sex.  Even though the woman had not yet been provided, she was in the Plan of God.  Then at the appropriate time, the Lord built the woman and brought her to Adam.  The principle of marriage is given in verse 5:  The Right Man shall leave his father and mother, get married, and be intimately, sexually, united with his Right Woman.  The word for having sex with is the Greek kollavw (kollao).  When the same verse, which is Genesis 2:24, is quoted in Ephesians 4:31, the word used is the Greek proskollavw (proskollao), which means face-to-face sex - something that animals cannot do.

The next phrase, "and the two shall become one flesh," illustrates the principle of the marriage system.  The Right Man and the Right Woman are elements of a system.  Each individual is incomplete without the other.  In marriage, the Right Woman completes the Right Man, and the Right Man fulfills the Right Woman.  A system is a group of elements, principles, and procedures that combine to accomplish a common purpose.  A system cannot be subdivided.  A molecule is an example of a microsystem.  Even though the individual elements may be very different, e.g. sodium and chlorine, they may combine to form molecules of a compound, such as salt, which is stable and cannot be subdivided without destroying the system.

Verse 6 emphasizes the concept of the system:  "Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh."   God sanctifies the marriage relationship as a system.  Therefore, it is called holy matrimony.  There is also a solemn warning against breaking up the marriage system:  "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”  Marriage is a divine institution that began in the Garden of Eden, and continues throughout human history.  God protects the divine institution of marriage, and there is a solemn command not to be divorced:  "let no man separate."

That explanation of the Doctrine of Marriage should have been sufficient, but the Pharisees could not understand Bible Doctrine, since they were unbelievers and in the Cosmic System.  They countered by quoting the law of divorce from the Mosaic Law (Deuteronomy 24:1).

They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?” (Matthew 19:7, NAS)
The Lord answered the Pharisees by explaining that the law of divorce in the Mosaic Law was added because of the hardness of the heart of the Exodus generation.
Matthew 19:8-9
8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it has not been this way. 9 “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife except for fornication and marries another woman, commits adultery.”
The Greek word for hardness of heart is Greek sklhrokardiva (sklerokardia), a compound of sklero (hardened) and kardia (heart).  The demand for divorces in the Exodus generation was due to hardness of heart (scar tissue of the soul).  Scar tissue led to adultery, and adultery was a legitimate grounds for divorce under the Mosaic Law.  However, the laws governing divorce and remarriage were in the permissive will of God and not the directive will.  Because their hearts were hardened, God allowed divorce, but the Divine Institution of Marriage was never supposed to include divorce.

Now, verse 9 says, "Whoever divorces his wife except for fornication."  This verse has been misconstrued to mean that since fornication is a legitimate grounds for divorce, it carries the right of remarriage for the non-guilty party.  This is false and contrary to Matthew 5:32.  Verse 9 is assuming that a woman has been divorced for some reason other than fornication (or adultery).  The Greek word for fornication in verse 9 is the Greek porneiva (porneia), which means fornication, adultery, or illicit sex.  This is stronger than immorality as it is sometimes translated.

Verse 9 continues to explain that a person who remarries after receiving a divorce is committing adultery.  Thus, there is something worse than divorce, and that is remarriage after a divorce.  There are other grounds for divorce, or separation, such as criminality, abuse, and battery, and they do not carry the right of remarriage either.

Scar tissue led the Exodus generation to reject Right Man and Right Woman and seek divorce just as illustrated in Scar Tissue of the Soul.  Marriage Culture in the Exodus generation was a mess, and the divorce rate was high.  Scar tissue of the soul led to divorce because scar tissue of the soul knocks out love between Right Man and Right Woman.  The men of the Exodus generation divorced their wives to marry younger girls.  During the time of Balaam, the men fornicated with the young, Moabite girls.  During the time of Nehemiah, the Jews rejected the concept of Right Man - Right Woman and intermarried with the Gentiles.  During the period of the Gospels, the doctrine of Marriage Culture was not understood by the Jews due to hardness of the heart.

Divorce and Remarriage

In spite of the part of the Mosaic Law that permitted divorce due to fornication, that was not the directive will of God.  God's original purpose in marriage was to stay married and not be divorced, even though divorce was permitted in certain extenuating circumstances.  Fornication is sometimes erroneously assumed to be a legitimate grounds for divorce in Matthew 5:31-32. However, that is not true, and there are parallel passages, Mark 10:2-12 and Luke 16:18, which do not uphold divorce and do not mention fornication as a legitimate grounds for divorce.  There is no contradiction in these three passages.  All of them explain that the original purpose of marriage was not to be divorced, and they add that marrying a divorced person is committing adultery, a sin that carried the death penalty under the Law.  However, Matthew 19:8 explains why divorce was permitted, though it was not the directive will of God.  It was permitted because of hardness of the heart, scar tissue of the soul.
Matthew 5:32 Divorce and Remarriage
But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife except for the reason of fornication (or adultery), causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman, commits adultery.
This verse covers two cases.
Case 1:  If a man divorces his wife for some reason other than adultery.  This is referring to the divorce gimmick in which the woman is the innocent party.  Even so, the woman will be committing adultery if she marries someone else.
Case 2:  If a man marries a divorced woman, he will be committing adultery with his first wife.
Therefore, divorce does not carry the right of remarriage.

The Church Age doctrine of marriage goes back to the original principle of marriage just as the Lord did.  In the Church Age, divorce is not the directive will of God in Christian marriages (1 Corinthians 7:10-11).  If separation or divorce does occur, then remarriage is not permitted according to the strict interpretation of the Word of God in keeping with the original purpose of the Divine Institution of Marriage.  Thus, Church Age doctrine recognizes extenuating circumstances that may require a divorce, but such cases do not carry the right of remarriage.

In mixed marriages, between a believer and an unbeliever, the rules of Christian marriage do not apply.   The unbeliever is not bound by the Word of God, and is, therefore, free to go (1 Corinthians 7:12-15).  The Christian, however, should not initiate a divorce.

In the marriage of two unbelievers (male and female), the Bible has no jurisdiction.  Unbelievers are not under obligation to obey the Bible.

The Bible does not authorize the marriage of two members of the same sex.  Marriage is a divine institution that is only legitimate between one male and one female.

If a Christian marries the wrong man or wrong woman, that is not grounds for a divorce.  However, extenuating circumstances such as criminality, abuse, and violence, may require separation or divorce.  But divorces for these reasons do not carry the right of remarriage.  The Christian who violates the divine order of creation and marries someone else's Right Man or Right Woman has two choices:  (1)  Advance to Spiritual Maturity by metabolization of Bible Doctrine, or (2) die the sin that ends in death.  Death of a spouse ends the marriage contract immediately.  Widows and widowers are free to remarry.  If a Christian obeys the Word of God, then the Lord will take care of the marriage arrangements in due time.  Apostate Christians who have violated the principle of Right Man - Right Woman of a person who is advancing to Spiritual Maturity can go select a grave site because they will need it.

The original principle of Right Man - Right Woman goes back to the precedent of the Garden and is covered in God's Sovereign Design.  Marriage is an act of human volition.  It is a contract for life.  Both Right Man - Right Woman and Marriage are systems that cannot be broken without destroying the system.  God upholds both systems:  Right Man - Right Woman and Marriage.  In the case of Marriage to someone else's Right Man or Right Woman, God will decide which system has priority.  God's Sovereign Design has priority over man's volition; so God will support the system of Right Man - Right Woman over Marriage to some else's Right Man or Right Woman.  Since Marriage is for life, those married to the wrong one can look forward to the sin unto death, unless they Rebound and advance to Spiritual Maturity.  Furthermore, even the Right Man or the Right Woman can incur intensified discipline with its Scar Tissue through fornication.  Such was the case with the Exodus generation.  God will sort out such circumstances and discipline accordingly (Hebrews 13:4).

Annulment

A marriage is a legal contract.  In the ancient world, the contract was arranged by the parents of the bride and groom, sometimes when they were still children, and the marriage was later consummated.  As with contracts, violations of the contract could nullify it.  Although the word, annulment, does not appear in the Bible, there were cases where it happened.  When Pharaoh married Sarah and later discovered that she was already married to Abraham, he annulled the marriage (Genesis 12:14-20).  It was an invalid marriage because Sarah was not free to marry.  In the case of Samson and his first wife, the girl's father annulled the marriage (under Philistine law) when Samson left during the honeymoon (Judges 14:20).

After the marriage contract was signed, if the bride fornicated or turned out not to be a virgin, then the husband could request an annulment (Deuteronomy 22:13-29).  When Jacob was tricked on his wedding night and found himself married to Leah, he requested an annulment, but Laban talked him out of it (Genesis 29:21-27).

Sins against the divine institution of Marriage will be judged by the Supreme Court of Heaven (Hebrews 13:4).  Judah's first two sons are examples.  The first one, Er, married Tamar; but God terminated his life with the sin unto death probably before the honeymoon was over.  Er was an evil unbeliever, and God prevented him from procreating a son who would compromise the line of Christ.  The second son, Onan, died the sin unto death on his wedding night when he deceived Tamar and Judah by wasting his seed on the ground rather than fulfilling his obligation under Levirate marriage to impregnate the widow of his deceased brother (Genesis 38:6-10).  God, in effect, annulled the marriage, and sent him to his grave.

In the Church Age, there are no rules for annulments per se; however, disputes about the validity of a marriage require the agreement of the father of the bride (1 Corinthians 7:36-38).

Scar Tissue of the Disciples

After the Lord explained the doctrine of marriage, the disciples could not handle it.  They lacked the Spiritual maturity necessary to grasp the significance of the doctrine.  Their response to the Lord Jesus Christ was, “If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.”
Matthew 19:10-12, NAS
10 The disciples said to Him, “If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry. 11 But He said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 “For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.”
Most people, just as the disciples, believe that marriage brings happiness, and that it is so desirable that not being permitted to be married, or remarried, is unthinkable.  The divorce rate was undoubtedly high during the period of the Gospels just as it is today.  So, the disciples threw up their hands in disbelief when they learned that marriage is for keeps, and to remarry after a divorce is committing adultery.    The disciples were in the category of those who could not accept the statement.  They couldn't accept the doctrine because of the scar tissue of their souls, which made them weak spiritually.  When the Lord said, "Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given," He was saying that only believers who were in fellowship and positive to Bible Doctrine were the ones to whom it had been addressed.  The same explanation was given as why the Lord began to teach in parables as He taught the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:11).

To amplify the concept of the faith required to obey the doctrine of marriage under adverse circumstances, the Lord used the examples of three types of eunuchs.  A eunuch is a castrated male.  The Lord said that some men could not get married because they were eunuchs due to birth defects.  The second type of eunuch was made that way by men.  Slaves that were captured in battle were often castrated, which may very well have happened to Daniel.  Such slaves could be given household jobs, such as guarding the harem, without fear of procreation.  The third type eunuch was one who became the equivalent of a eunuch for the sake of the kingdom of heaven.  The kingdom of heaven was the congregation of Jewish believers who honored their King, the Lord Jesus Christ.  This type eunuch refers to a man who set aside the right of marriage because of a higher calling.  The Apostle Paul is an example of such a person in the Church Age.  Paul did not have the gift of celibacy, but he forfeited the right of marriage, in order to fulfill God's Plan for his life.

All three types of eunuchs could live and fulfill God's calling of the Spiritual life without being married.  It is possible to live without being married.  It is possible to live without sex.  And it is possible to fulfill the Plan of God without being married.  Even though it is suffering to deprive a person of marriage in this life, it is possible through faith to survive and fulfill the Plan of God.  Of course, the disciples could not accept this doctrine, because they were weak due to the scar tissue of the soul.

Scar Tissue in Groups of Society

Scar Tissue in the Disciples

The disciples of our Lord suffered from scar tissue of the soul, which hindered their ability to metabolize Bible Doctrine.  The scar tissue in their souls became a problem on various occasions and was pointed out by our Lord.  The scar tissue of Judas Iscariot, an unbeliever, became so great that he became a double agent and was indwelt by Satan.  The scar tissue of the disciples made them forgetful.  On one occasion they forgot to pack their lunch, a situation very much like the psychological problem of denial.  However, the problem was also in their spiritual life.  They could not recall Bible Doctrine in order to make the correct application.
Mark 8:14-17, NAS
14 And they had forgotten to take bread; and did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them. 15 And He was giving orders to them, saying, “Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” 16 And they began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread. 17 And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet see or understand? Do you have a hardened heart?
The disciples could not understand the principle of Logistical Grace provision of food because scar tissue of the soul prevented their understanding and application (metabolization) of one of the most basic of all doctrines.  The Exodus generation had to learn the doctrine when they took the no-water test at Massah (Testing) and Meribah (Quarreling) (Exodus 17:1-7).  Under Logistical Grace, God will provide food to sustain the believer in this life from the Plan of God Server in Heaven.  The believer must learn to eat only food from Logistical Grace.  Eating junk food amounts to human good and will thwart Spiritual Growth.  When the disciples could not metabolize the doctrine of Logistical Grace, the Lord asked them if they had a hardened heart, which is the same word, porosis (hardened, calloused, or petrified), that had been applied to the Pharisees.
“Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember, (Mark 8:18, NAS)
In verse 18 Jesus enumerates the problems of scar tissue of the soul.  They did not see because scar tissue darkens the soul.  They did not perceive the real meaning of Logistical Grace, and they could not apply the doctrine on the Stage of Life.  They did not hear because scar tissue dulls the hearing so that Bible Doctrine cannot be easily understood.  And they could not remember because scar tissue makes the rate of forgetting exceed the rate of learning.  Scar tissue leads to confusion, which makes it difficult to remember the teachings of Bible Doctrine.  The disciples were poor students because of scar tissue of the soul.  So the Lord reminded them of feeding the multitudes where He illustrated the concept of Logistical Grace.
Mark 8:19-21, NAS
19 when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.” 20 “And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?” And they said to Him, “Seven.” 21 And He was saying to them, “Do you not yet understand?”
Who provides the food?  The Lord does.  Those who reject Logistical Grace provision make a mockery out of God by thinking God will bless junk food which was not from the Plan of God Server.  The believer should thank God for His Logistical Grace provision before a meal, but only if the food being eaten is from Logistical Grace.  Those who eat junk food often are weak and sickly.  Eating food is the physical analogy of metabolization of Bible Doctrine.  How can anyone metabolize Spiritual food who rejects Logistical Grace provision?
The Spiritual Life will not advance if the believer will not obey the Holy Spirit in what he eats.
After the Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected, some of the disciples did not believe it, and they were reprimanded for their hardness of heart (scar tissue of the soul).
And afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. (Mark 16:14, NAS)
The scar tissue of the soul of these disciples prevented them from applying Bible Doctrine.  Hardness of the heart made them insensitive to the events on the Stage of Life.  Instead of walking in faith, metabolizing Bible Doctrine, and having it verified through correct application, the disciples did not believe Bible Doctrine due to their hardness of heart, and they flunked the test.  Thus, scar tissue of the soul thwarted their ability to accurately apply Bible Doctrine.  They were wandering around in the dark in their ignorance and disbelief.

Scar Tissue of the Pharisees

The Pharisees were the religious Jews who rejected the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ because of their scar tissue of the soul.  The Pharisees were even upset about the Lord's healing on the Sabbath.
Mark 3:1-4, NAS
1 And He entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there with a withered hand. 2 And they were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, in order that they might accuse Him. 3 And He said to the man with the withered hand, “Rise and come forward!” 4 And He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.
The Pharisees were watching the Lord to see if he would heal on the Sabbath so they could complain about it.  The Lord diagnosed their problem as scar tissue of the soul.
Mark 3:5-6, NAS
5 And after looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. 6 And the Pharisees went out and immediately began taking counsel with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.
The Greek word for hardness of heart in verse 5 is Greek pwvrwsi" (porosis), which means hardened, calloused, or petrified.  It is the word for scar tissue.  The Pharisees had hardened, or petrified, hearts.  In their legalism, they got their logic reversed and made something good, like healing, into something bad.  They should have loved Jesus Christ, but they hated him and sought to destroy Him.  They conspired with the Gentile rulers to get rid of the Lord.  They hated God and their fellow man, but they covered all this with a self-righteous facade of religion.

Partial Hardening of Israel

The Lord Jesus Christ presented Himself to the Jews during the Hypostatic Union, but they rejected Him.
He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. (John 1:11, NAS)
This rejection was due to their hardness of heart.
Romans 11:7-8, NAS
7 What then? That which Israel is seeking for, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened; 8 just as it is written,
“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes to see not and ears to hear not,
Down to this very day.”
The word for hardness in verse 7 is Greek  porosis (hardened, calloused, or petrified).  Those Jews who wanted to believe in Jesus Christ, were free to do so.  Those who would believe in Jesus Christ are called "the chosen" or "elect."  This means that they were elected, or chosen, based upon the foreknowledge of God.  God did not predestine some to be saved and some to be lost.  Everyone has a choice.  However, God, in His foreknowledge, knew beforehand which ones would believe in Jesus Christ.  The believers are called the chosen, or elect.  That part of Israel who rejected Jesus Christ was hardened.
Rejection of the Gospel leads to scar tissue of the soul.
The part of the nation of Israel who rejected Jesus Christ as Savior wound up with scar tissue of the soul (hardness of the heart).  The scar tissue of the soul is described as a stupor, which is callous insensitivity like a drunk.  They have eyes to see but they do not perceive the Spiritual Life.  They see Jesus Christ but do not perceive that He is the Son of God.  They have ears to hear Bible Doctrine but they do not understand it.  They have ears to hear the Gospel, but they do not comprehend Salvation.  This condition whereby part of Israel is hardened is called a partial hardening:
For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles has come in; (Romans 11:25, NAS)
Israel will be hardened until the completion of the times of the Gentiles, i.e. the Church Age.  Isaiah predicted this:
Isaiah 6:9-10
9 And He said, "Go, and tell this people:
'Keep on listening, but do not understand;
Keep on looking, but do not perceive.'
10 "Make the heart of this people insensitive,
Their ears hard of hearing
And their eyes blurred,
Lest they see with their eyes,
With their ears hear,
With their heart understand,
And return (rebound) and He heal them."
Verse 9 describes the characteristics of scar tissue of the soul.  The believer and unbeliever can build up scar tissue.  The unbeliever builds up scar tissue by rejecting the Gospel.  The believer builds up scar tissue by rejecting Bible Doctrine and the Spiritual Life.  Those with scar tissue can listen to Spiritual instruction, but they will not understand it.  The scar tissue prevents them from believing.  A person with a hardened heart will not believe, since it is the very nature of a hardened heart not to believe.  Also, the person with scar tissue of the soul can see with his eyes, but he will not be able to perceive the Spiritual meaning of what he sees.

The first half of verse 10 describes scar tissue of the soul in reversionism, while the second half of the verse describes recovery from scar tissue of the soul.  The description of reversionism describes going down in terms of the heart, ears, and eyes; whereas, reversion recovery reverses the three:  eyes, ears, and heart.  This is the typical way that the Word of God presents the beginning and end of a sequence.

The person with scar tissue of the soul has an insensitive heart.  The insensitive heart is cold toward God (lack of Spiritual Rapport) and cold toward Right Man or Right Woman (lack of harmonious rapport).  The ears are hard of hearing, which means that the person does not readily understand Bible Doctrine.  He does not understand it because he does not believe it.  Furthermore, his eyes are blurred, i.e. he does not perceive the Spiritual issues on the Stage of Life.  He does not apply doctrine, and he does not give thanks for the Plan of God.

The recovery process begins with the eyes, which must be used to perceive the existing Spiritual status from the Stage of Life.  How else could a person turn around if he did not know which way he were going?  The reversionist must realign the X-Y-Z axes, which requires Rebound in order to see anything spiritually.  However, after Rebound additional Problem Solving Devices must be deployed or the ship will sink before it can be turned around to chart a new course.  After the eyes, the ears must be used to hear and obey Bible teaching.  The ears represent the function of faith perception and application.  Bible Doctrine must be the solution to scar tissue of the soul, or recovery will not be possible.  Then the heart must be fully operational to understand the daily issues in the divine recovery process.  The heart is required to circulate Bible Doctrine, pass categorical testing, complete the Edification Complex of the Soul,  and to have Spiritual Rapport with God and harmony with Right Man or Right Woman.  The integrity of the heart must be maintained to have love through all the testing required for removal of scar tissue of the soul.

The road of recovery that leads to Spiritual Maturity is a long road with many days of testing.  It is described as returning, or restoration, to Spiritual Rapport, which requires Rebound as necessary along the way.  If Rebound is neglected, reversionism will return, and there will be no recovery.  However, if the Spiritual Life is executed faithfully, the Lord will promote the believer, which includes removal of scar tissue.  The removal of the scar tissue can only be obtained through the grace of God.  It is described as being healed and may include spiritual, soulish, and physical revival.

The Lord Jesus Christ quoted Isaiah 6:9-10 as the reason for teaching in parables to the Jews of His day who had hardness of the heart (Matthew 13:13-16; Mark 4:12; Luke 8:10; John 12:40).
