Picture Link: Mt. Blanc Smoking TunnelMarch 24, 1999 (Day 83): A fire in the Mount Blanc tunnel between France and Italy burned for two days and killed at least 35 people. The fire was started by a Belgian truck that was hauling flour and margarine. According to the driver of the truck, Gilbert Degraves, the fire was started by gasoline entering the exhaust pipe of the truck. He stopped about midway through the 7 mile tunnel to check the truck, and it exploded. The tunnel quickly turned into an oven with temperatures that reached perhaps 1000 degrees Centigrade (1800 F.). The incident began on the morning of the 24th.1
At about 7:57 PM local (1:57 PM EST), NATO bombing of Serbia began.
Picture Links: Blaze | videoMarch 25, 1999 (Day 84): A fire that resembled a flaming torch broke out at the Chevron Refinery in San Francisco, California at 2:28 PM PST. There was an explosion followed by flames and thick, black smoke. The plant was evacuated and approximately 110 firefighters extinguished the blaze by 4:30 PM. There were no injuries from the fire, although some were treated for smoke inhilation.2
Muslims from all over the world made their annual pilgrimage to Mecca for hajj. On March 27, 1999, the second day of hajj, they performed their ceremony of throwing stones at the devil.4
And it came about when the sun had set, that it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking stove and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces. (Genesis 15:17)As Abraham was having nightmares about the future of Israel and its slavery in Egypt, after sunset the Lord passed between the halves of sacrificial animals in the form of a smoking stove and a flaming torch. The stove (Hebrew tannur) was a cylindrical fire-pot, a typical stove used for cooking in the homes of the day. The symbolism of the smoking stove and flaming torch is the same as the appearance of the Shekinah Glory in the Tabernacle as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Clouds can be seen in the day, and fire at night. The smoking stove and flaming torch that passed between the animal parts was the Lord, who was making a covenant with Himself. According to the custom, the animals split in half represented the two sides of an issue, and two people walked between the two halves to symbolize the making a covenant. But no one else walked through with the Lord as Abraham lay asleep. He made the covenant with no one except Himself. This was an unconditional covenant. He promised Abraham the Promised Land unconditionally. The boundaries of the Promised Land are described as all the land between the Nile and the Euphrates (Genesis 15:18), and including the North-South boundaries occupied by the ten tribes in Genesis 15:19-21.
When the scene is integrated, the two fires, the flaming torch and smoking stove represent the Lord's answer to the counterattack of Ecumenical Babylon - i.e. remember the unconditional covenant to Israel. The unconditional covenants, including the Abrahamic and New Covenants to Israel, will be fulfilled when the Lord returns at the Second Advent. The strong statement with the two fires was made in answer to the celebration of the Islam holy days and the anti-Semitism demonstrated by the leaders of the European Union. The Muslims claim descent from Abraham, but they do not believe the Abrahamic Covenant.
Picture Links: Vance | Track | ABC Real Audio ReportMarch 22, 1999 (Day 81): Cyclone Vance blew into Western Australia through the Exmouth Gulf with winds reported at 180 mph. The most powerful cyclone ever recorded had winds of 165 mph.1 The path of Vance is due to cross the path of the annular eclipse of the Sun which occurred in Australia on February 16, 1999 (Day 47). After the cyclone, a 47-year old man from Exmouth was missing and believed dead; however, he was later discovered alive. There were no deaths from the cyclone, which is remarkable since Exmouth was devastated. Rain from the cyclone halted operations at gold mines around Kalgoorlie.4 The west side of a nation is symbolized by the Tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, the double blessing, which includes business and banking; so, in Australia, like California, gold is there.
In other news, thousands of Muslims are flocking to Mecca on their annual pilgrimage. In Malaysia the great pig slaughter is occurring, where 300,000 pigs are being killed due to an epidemic of encephalitis carried by mosquitoes and linked to pigs. Pigs are the symbol of a reversionist because after washing, they will return to the mud hole (2 Peter 2:22). Pork is considered unclean to the Muslims just as it was to Judaism under the Mosaic Law.
In Mexico, the volcano Popocatepetl has been erupting again.2 Popocatepetl means smoking mountain or holy smoke. It had a major eruption in 1519, the year the Spanish arrived. The last major eruption was in 1920-22, and minor ash was reported in 1947. The last eruption episode began December 21, 1994. Popocatepetl is south of San Antonio, Texas, the hometown of Ken Starr, who may be investigated by the Attorney General.

In the Tabernacle the holy smoke was the smoke that rose from the Brazen Altar when animals were sacrificed. It was also the cloud by day that appeared over the Holy of Holies. If a picture of the Tabernacle is superimposed over Australia (reference picture at top), then the Ark of the Covenant will sit at the place where the path of Vance crosses the path of the annular eclipse of the Sun of February 16. That was Day 47, the number for peace, which correlates to the last eruption of Popocatepetl before 1994. On the Day of Atonement, blood was sprinkled on the Mercy Seat of the Ark to symbolize Jesus Christ, the redemption solution and the propitiation for the sins of the world. While the Muslims are trekking to Mecca, they should be remembering the blood of Jesus Christ, the only efficacious sacrifice for the sins of the world. Muhammed did not purchase salvation.
The cyclone, like a hurricane, symbolizes judgment of a nation that is like a reacting female who rejects her Right Man. The Lord Jesus Christ in the Marriage Culture analogy is the Right Man of the Church. When He is rejected, it is like a reacting female who rejects her Right Man. The eclipse symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it symbolizes the eclipse testing of the male in which the Right Man must lay down his life for his Right Woman (Ephesians 5:25-26). In the Fifth Cycle of Discipline, this will occur literally. The men will die in battle.
When Jesus Christ is rejected as Savior, there will no salvation. Whether Jew, Gentile, or Muslim, salvation only comes through Jesus Christ. Living a good live will not bring salvation. Salvation only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ.
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12, NAS). He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.(John 3:36, NAS). Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household. (Acts 16:31).
