Neither scientists nor mystics understand them. Though they may spout volumes of information about them, they neither know nor respect their true significance primarily because mankind without God never knows the truth. The eruption of Kilauea on January 20 - 27, 1998 coincided with the media frenzy that engulfed Washington, DC and the world when a previously unknown 24 year-old woman, Monica Lewinsky, surfaced on January 21 to become the hottest news item on earth.
Volcanoes are fiery judgments from God. According to Revelation 8:8, volcanoes are produced by special angels who are authorized to bring this judgment upon the land. But a careful examination of the artwork of these angels reveals a stunning similarity between volcanoes and the genitalia of women. Volcanoes are not acts of nature. They are not under the power of demon gods. They are creations of angels in the Plan of God. Their eruptions are carefully orchestrated events in human history, which is under the control of the Lord Jesus Christ. Volcanoes bear their artistic symmetry for a very significant reason: To symbolize the failure of the woman in Marriage Culture and to reveal the judgment of fire.
Just as tornadoes represent the uncircumcised male and bring the destructive judgment of the whirlwind, volcanoes represent the failure of the woman in Marriage Culture and bring the destructive judgment of fire. The tornado comes down from the storm clouds, while the volcano rises from the earth. The fire from the volcano rises from the heart of the earth and represents the judgment of hell. Both tornadoes and volcanoes are shaped like horns, which symbolize intensified discipline.
The angels who bring these judgments are so powerful that the devastation is seen by people over large areas. These things are awesome, and everyone talks about them.
Pictures: Fogo Volcano | Fogo | Fogo |On April 2, 1995 a volcano started erupting on Fogo, Cape Verde, which is off the west coast of Africa opposite Senegal. Fogo means fire in Portuguese. The eruptions, which were the first since 1951, continued through April and into May. "The violent eruption produced lava bombs up to 4 meters across that were ejected as far as 500 meters from the vents."2 In the days that followed, the violent belching gave way to a steady flow of lava, but on April 18 strong earthquakes marked the change back to the violent belching, Strombolian activity.2 On April 23, 1995 deafening explosions from the vents shook the ground.1
On April 2, 1998 President Clinton concluded his African tour with a visit to Goree Island, which is off the coast of Dakar, Senegal. Goree Island was one of the former centers of the slave trade to the Americas.3 However, it wasn't slavery that marked the visit from the divine viewpoint, but it was the visit on the very anniversary of the eruption of the Fogo volcano. Senegal is one of the countries where female circumcision is still practiced, though there are some cities that reject the practice. Mrs. Clinton spoke on the subject of female circumcision, which was precisely in tune with the divine viewpoint of history. Female circumcision is not authorized by Christianity, but is practiced in the Islamic religion. It is a Satanic counterattack upon Marriage Culture, though it is supposedly performed to protect the virginity of the female. The Fogo volcano represented Divine judgment for this atrocious attack of Marriage Culture. It is interesting that the Goree house of slaves is even shaped like a volcano.
On April 19, 1995 the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed in the worst act of terrorism in the USA. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were convicted of the bombing. The bombing occurred during the Fogo volcanic eruption. The name Nichols is a homonym of nickel, a metal (atomic number 28). Nichols is derived from the Greek nikolaos, which is made from nikos (victory) and laos (people, nation) and means victory of the people. Nikolaos is transliterated Nicolas in Acts 6:5.
Another variation of Nicolas (Nikolaos) is Nikolaiton, an apostate religious sect with reversionism like Balaam. Nikolaitons infiltrated the church at Pergammon (Revelation 2:15). Balaam was anti-Semitic and attempted to destroy Israel through demonism. Whereas, Nicolas may be a good name, Nikolaiton is not. Thus, the term, Nicolas, is an eye catcher, but its meaning can only be determined from the context.
The Fogo volcano is located at 14.95 N, 24.35 W. The 24 is the number for the strategic counterattack of Satan upon the Jews. To the north of Fogo Island is San Nicolau , which is another variation of the word, nikolaos. There were 19 children killed in the bombing on April 19, 1995. The killing of the children can be linked to Baal, the killer of children and enemy of Israel. The bombing was a form of Fire Testing.
However, the Fogo volcano, which stands over against the continent of Africa, also symbolizes a judgment of Marriage Culture. The fire of the volcano and the red hot pool of lava that was exposed when the mountain burst was a graphic symbol of the virgin blood of Islam in infibulation,4 the most extreme from of female circumcision, which guarantees bloody intercourse. The practice of infibulation and the other forms of female circumcision are designed to reduce a woman to a helpless girl and thereby insure male dominance in sex. This is the enemy of Marriage Culture, and the Fogo volcano was God's judgment to symbolize the failure of the female in Marriage Culture.
On May 21, 1998 Kip Kinkel fired 51 rounds in a murderous rampage at Thurston High School in Oregon. The first of two students that he killed was Mikael Nicholauson,5 another variation of nikolaos and another reference to 51, the number for arrogance. Fogo erupted in 1951. The Kinkel rampage was a form of Fire Testing, or smelting, which will be explained in The Smelting Pot.
And the second angel sounded his trumpet. And even as a gigantic mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; so a third of the sea became blood. (Rev. 8:8)The angel in charge of the volcano judgment will first sound his trumpet. Volcanoes are usually preceded by earthquakes and sounds. They erupt with a deep base sound. These sounds are produced by volcano angels.
The volcano made by the angel will be gigantic. It will be like a "mountain burning with fire." This is obviously a volcano. However, the volcano will be in the sea, which is not uncommon. It's gigantic size may be due to being located where two continental shelves come together. It will be so big that it will cause a third of the sea to be colored blood red. The statement that "the sea became blood" does not mean that the sea will turn to literal blood. The same language is used to describe the moon becoming blood (Joel 2:31; Revelation 6:12), which means it will be blood red in color due to ash in the atmosphere. The blood red color of a third of the sea will be due to the color of the eruptive material.
The energy of a volcano is extremely powerful. The force may be that of hundreds of atomic bombs. The volcano is not an aberration of nature, but is sculpted and carefully controlled by the volcano angel. Eruptions are produced on schedule per the Plan of God. The eruptions curse not only those in the vicinity, but also announce the onset of cursing on more distant parts of the land. Thus, there are direct and indirect judgments from the volcano.
Just as the power of the woman in sex exceeds that of the man, volcanoes exceed the power of tornadoes. Both are powerful judgments that symbolize problems of Marriage Culture. When Marriage Culture deteriorates, the problem is so bad that God orders the awesome symbols of volcanoes and tornadoes to get the attention of mankind before evil consumes the culture and it has to be destroyed.
With this background, the Lord seized upon metallurgy as an analogy for divine testing of nations and people. Smelting, in which precious metals were separated from ore and inferior metals, became the symbol of divine testing. Gold and silver became symbols of divine good production while by products like lead and copper became symbols of dead works. Fire assaying in which the quality of a metal was proven became a symbol of Fire Testing in which divine justice tested the faith of believers and the strength of nations.
Before the Fifth Cycle of Discipline, the prophets spoke of Fire Testing in which the people would be smelted to separate the silver and gold from the dross. The city of Jerusalem was called a smelting pot where the Lord was separating the silver from the dross. When there was no longer any silver obtained from the smelting, the Lord decreed the Fifth Cycle of Discipline for one reason: Not enough Bible Doctrine in the soul.
The destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC was the classic symbol of the smelting pot analogy of the holocaust. When the city fell, the carnage was described in Lamentations. The soldiers were killed in battle, the women were raped, the city was looted and burned, the citizens were slaughtered, and the teens were taken captive into Babylon. But before the holocaust ever occurred, the prophets taught Bible Doctrine, which was rejected by the people and became the source of their condemnation. They flunked the Fire Tests that occurred daily. The people were being smelted before the holocaust to foretell the approaching doom. Fire Tests, therefore, precede the holocaust.
After Bible Doctrine is learned in Bible Class, it will be validated by the Holy Spirit. There are many different types of tests in the validation process, but the one in view here is Fire Testing. During Fire Testing, the believer is placed under pressure analogous to smelting. Just as smelting separates the silver and gold from the ore and impurities, Fire Testing validates the integrity of Bible Doctrine in the heart. Fire Testing is useful as a categorical test to pull together scattered fragments of doctrine. In this respect it serves as a type of momentum testing.
Illustration: Mt. Etna VolcanoFire Testing is a present reality for the individual believer in the Church Age as well as the Client Nation to God. Fire Testing is also a part of the heritage of Israel even in the Church Age. As the Lord Jesus Christ controls human history, He demonstrates divine good (gold, silver, and precious stones) by Fire Testing while destroying dead works (wood, hay, and straw). The divine good that has been validated by Fire Testing will be used as a testimony for the Lord in the Appeal Trial of Satan and will be the basis for eternal reward.
Fire Testing proves the metal of the individual believer to qualify for promotion on the road to maturity. Fire Testing may be used to demonstrate separation from the world to qualify for the Spiritual Warfare Phase of the Christian Life on the road to Spiritual Maturity. Only when the believer loves the Lord more than the world can there be qualification for promotion to Spiritual Warfare. Following Spiritual Warfare is the Suffering Phase, which may also include Fire Testing. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego underwent Fire Testing when they refused to worship the image of Nebuchadnezzar. They were thrown into the smelting furnace but were delivered by the power of the Lord. After the test, they were promoted into Spiritual Maturity.
Fire Testing can be expected in the life of the believer. It will happen, and it will hurt. As the Apostle Peter said:
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fire in you, the test that comes face-to-face with you, as though some strange thing were happening to you; (1 Peter 4:12)This is the Fire Test. It comes face-to-face with us on the Stage of Life. It includes intense pressure, but it can be discerned by means of divine viewpoint from Bible Doctrine in the soul. It can only be passed by Experiential Sanctification, application of Bible Doctrine.
Many of the fires, volcanoes, explosions, and fiery crashes that occur every day are Client Nation Fire Tests. For example, the explosion of the Space Shuttle, Challenger, in 1986 was a Fire Test. This was the spiritual meaning though there were also temporal design problems and system psychological problems which followed the spiritual. Being struck by lightning and fiery plane crashes are also examples of Fire Tests. Mass murder with a fire arm may also be Fire Testing. During such Fire Tests, the Lord delivers some and takes some.
Examples of Fire Tests in 1998 on the world stage include the fires in Mexico, which burned 1.25 million acres, riots in Indonesia and Israel, and terrorist bombing.
Isaiah 1The issue was very simple. The basis for blessing, eating the good of the land, was hearing and obeying the Word of the Lord. Client Nations rise or fall based upon their attitude toward Bible Doctrine. Marriages and businesses also are blessed or cursed based upon Bible Doctrine. Those who reject Bible Doctrine will be "devoured by the sword," i.e. destroyed under the Fifth Cycle of Discipline.
19 If you willingly hear and obey,
You will eat the good of the land;
20 But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword.
How has she become a whore, the faithful citadel!Isaiah called Jerusalem "a whore," though it was once a "faithful citadel." She was once full of "right" and "righteousness," but now full of "murderers." The contrast between the whore and the murderer reflects the state of degeneracy in Israel. The whore and the murderer represent the two characteristics of Satan in the Cosmic System. One represents the god of war and the other represents the goddess of love. As shown in the illustration of the Grace Support System, both the god of war and goddess of love originate with Satan. Isaiah saw these two extremes in Israel, which means the people were residing in the Cosmic System and enslaved to Satan.
She, full of right, lodged in righteousness -
But now murderers. (Isaiah 1:21)
Your silver has become dross,Silver represents divine good. Dross represents the impurities from the process of refining silver. Before the fall of Client Nation Israel, the symbolic refining of silver yielded only dross. There was once silver because many of the people were believers. However, reversionism had left them with only dross, impurities of silver. In order for dross to surface, there had to be Fire Testing, or Fire Assaying. The Lord, who controls human history, ordered the Fire Testing in order to assess the collective degeneracy of the nation. The metric was silver. The Lord did not assess their evil deeds and sins. He assessed their silver. And their silver had become dross.
Your choice wine has been castrated with water. (Isaiah 1:22)
Silver
represents divine good production associated with the Justice of God.
Mankind must respond to the Justice of God by submission to divine authority.
Submission to divine authority begins at Salvation and continues through
Experiential Sanctification, which requires the use of Rebound and obedience
to Bible Doctrine. Even though many in Israel had salvation, they
were not using Rebound; and, therefore, they were unable to be obedient
to Bible Doctrine. In the illustration, smelting brings suffering
for the believer and unbeliever. The Stage of Life reveals the issue
to the doctrinal believer. When the believer obeys God and rejects
the Cosmic System, Experiential Sanctification results. The believer
who is obedient to God produces divine good while those who remain in the
Cosmic System produce dead works. The believer who obeys God is like
gold and silver that have been separated by smelting. The obedient
believers are thus extracted from the disobedient in the nation just as
silver and gold are extracted from ore.
Another purification analogy followed - "Your choice wine has been castrated with water." This was a strong statement. The best of wine must be produced under strict quality control so that the proper percentage of alcohol is maintained. Israel's wine had been castrated, which means that it lacked the vigor to affect those who imbibed with the characteristic high from alcohol. Just as castration deprived the male of the ability to procreate, the wine in Israel had been weakened with water and no longer had the punch of an alcoholic beverage. The wine in Israel, was consequently analogous to a male who had been mutilated (emasculated). The percentage of alcohol that should have been present in the best wine was nil. Therefore, even their best wine was a flop. The implications were that the wine industry was a business failure due to lack of quality.
Your rulers are rebellious,Israel's problems were everywhere. The national leaders, the "rulers," were rebellious. They had rejected the authority of God, which made them rebellious. Israel was founded upon the concept of a Theocracy, which meant that God was the highest authority. When they rejected the authority of God, they were rebellious. Leadership is responsible for quality. It is easy to see why the wine industry failed. The leaders were rebellious. Furthermore, the leaders were the companions of thieves. They formed political ties to criminals. When a leader does not obey divine authority, slavery to the Cosmic System results. Characteristics of the Cosmic System include the love of money, which is a root of all the evils.
And companions of thieves;
Everyone loves a bribe,
And hunts after rewards.
They do not defend the orphan,
Nor does the widow’s plea come before them. (Isaiah 1:23)
The people had the same problem. Because of the love of money, they loved bribes and hunted for rewards. They sought opportunities to get something for nothing. Attraction to gambling and give-aways are examples of this. Arrogance also included lack of sensitivity toward the less fortunate, i.e. orphans and widows. The people were not about to share their money with orphans and widows, who lacked the means of support.
Therefore the Lord God of the Armies,The Lord Jesus Christ was the Chief of the joint chiefs of staff of Israel. He led the Army of Israel to destroy its adversaries. In His position as Chief, the Lord also commanded the armies of the Elect Angels (angels of God). The armies of Elect Angels were quite capable of rendering any army of men helpless and defeated. The hornets that were sent as a symbolic judgment to drive out Israel's enemies before them was an example of the warfare of the Elect Angels. The Elect Angels defeated the enemies of Israel before they could attack. The principle was established that the Lord avenged Himself on His enemies.
The Mighty One of Israel declares, “Ah, I relieve Myself on My adversaries,
And avenge Myself on My enemies. (Isaiah 1:24)
“I will turn My hand against you,The Lord God turned His hand against Israel. The hand of God is, with only a few exceptions, a symbol of cursing, just as slapping (Job 19:21; Jer. 6:9; Ezek. 25:13, 38:12; Psalm 81:14). The cursing that Israel was to receive was smelting. Their dross was to be smelted. Dross is the impurity from the smelting process that contains some silver. Thus, the believers would be smelted so that every trace of precious silver could be extracted. Their dross would be smelted "as with lye." Lye was an alkali used to accelerate the process of smelting in order to separate a metal from its ore.
And will smelt away your dross as with lye,
And will remove all your lead. (Isaiah 1:25)
The
symbolic smelting of the soul is shown in the illustration. Pieces
of unvalidated Bible Doctrine, illustrated as silver and gold, are scattered
in the soul. When the believer is put under the pressure of smelting,
these pieces of silver and gold are put to the test. If the believer
uses them to pass the test, the fragments of silver and gold are assimilated
into the existing Edification Complex of the Soul. If the believer
flunks the test, the fragments become the source of condemnation.
The smelting pressure makes an issue of Bible Doctrine as the Fire Test
scenario is illustrated on the Stage of Life. The believer with divine
viewpoint will be able to understand the true issue on the Stage of Life
and make the correct application. The believer with subjectivity
or arrogance will miss the point and be condemned.
The smelting of the soul may also be called categorical testing or momentum testing because smelting is designed to test more than a single piece of doctrine. Not all categorical or momentum tests are Fire Tests, however. But Fire Tests are designed to test a group, or category, of doctrine. The results of the extraction are statistical. The gold and silver are extracted to a specified level of purity. For example, the purity of gold or silver may be measured in carats, a measure based upon the percentage of purity.
In Fire Testing, as in smelting, the gold and silver are approved and the impurities are rejected. The phrase, "and will remove all your lead," is a reference to the impurity. The word for lead in the Hebrew is lyd!B+ (bedil), which is lead separated from ore in the process of making silver. "In the form of powder this dross is called bedil, and the pieces bedilim; whereas ophereth is the name of solid lead obtained by simply melting down from ore which does not contain silver."6 Thus, Fire Testing will separate out the gold and silver and leave behind byproducts such as dross of lead, which are of no value.
Ezekiel 22:17-18The Lord gave Ezekiel the prophecy of smelting of Israel. Israel had become "dross." This was "dross of silver," which means they were believers with traces of silver from their salvation. However, they were reversionists. These reversionists were described as the metals other than silver that were the byproducts of smelting. They were bronze, which was an alloy of mostly copper with a little tin. In other words, the properties of this metal were mostly those of copper. They were also tin, iron, and lead - all byproducts of smelting.
17 The word of the Lord came to me saying,
18 “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; all of them are bronze and tin and iron and lead in the furnace; they are the dross of silver.
Ezekiel 22:19-20Before the Fifth Cycle of Discipline, Israel was tested for Bible Doctrine in the soul. Moses would have referred to this as determining whether Israel was a head or a tail. The Lord has ordered Fire Testing, however. The suffering would be like smelting, which is designed to extract silver. Silver is symbolic of Bible Doctrine associated with the justice of God. The Fire Testing was for everyone. The judgment was collective. The Lord as the assayer would test all the people by Fire Testing and determine if there were enough silver to prevent the approaching Fifth Cycle of Discipline.
19 Therefore, thus says the Lord God, "Because all of you have become dross, therefore, behold, I gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
20 As they gather together silver and bronze and iron and lead and tin into the furnace to blow fire on it for melting, so I shall gather you together in My anger and in My wrath, and put you in and melt you.
Verse 19 is the principle: Because they are all dross, they will be gathered into the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem was the smelting pot where they would be melted. This was a prophecy of the holocaust in 586 BC. Since the people had no silver but were bronze, iron, lead, and tin (verse 20), they would be dumped into a blast furnace for smelting (Fire Testing) - also called the holocaust. All the bronze, iron, lead, and tin would be rejected, i.e. destroyed by the invading army. The Lord was the Judge. He would not find enough silver to deliver the nation. Only Jeremiah and a small remnant survived the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BC.
Ezekiel 22:21-22The Lord emphasized the smelting analogy again. The city of Jerusalem was analogous to a large smelting pot where the people would be gathered in the siege of Jerusalem. The fire from the wrath of God would blow upon them and they would be smelted.
21 I will collect you together and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, that you will be melted in the midst of it (Jerusalem).
22 As silver is melted in the furnace, so you will be melted in the midst of it; and you shall learn that I, the Lord, have poured out My wrath upon you.”
“Thus I have poured out My anger on them; I have destroyed them with the fire of My wrath; their way I have brought upon their heads,” declares the Lord Jehovah. (Ezekiel 22:31)The prophetic conclusion would be the total destruction of Jerusalem. Most of the people would be killed and the city would be burned. The "fire of My wrath" refers to Fire Testing of the Fifth Cycle of Discipline, the holocaust. "Their way" means their way of life, reversionism. The judgment brought "upon their heads" refers to a judgment of authority. They violated God's authority. Therefore, their heads will be smashed, smelted. The head is a symbol of authority.
"I have appointed you as a validator, a strong tower among My people, in order that you may know and validate their pathways." (Jeremiah 6:27)The word validator is the Hebrew /j^B*(bachan), the same as in Proverbs 17:3. It means to perform a qualification test, acceptance test; validate; proof test; assay. Jeremiah had the authority to teach Bible Doctrine, and that authority carried with it the right to judge the results. Of course, as God's spokesman, Jeremiah would only approve silver or gold - not tin or lead. The highest authority in the land was Jeremiah - not the king. Jeremiah was the spiritual authority over Israel.
Jeremiah was called "a strong tower," a metaphor of strength. The tower of a wall was the strong point in the wall. The wall of the city represented security. When a breach occurred in the wall, Jeremiah stood in the gap as a strong tower. Jeremiah towered over the people. He saw and understood their spiritual strengths and weaknesses. When they went into reversionism, he validated their pathway and judged them as being wrong.
"All of them are stubbornly rebellious, who go about as slanderers. They are copper and iron. They are all dealing corruptly." (Jeremiah 6:28)The people were all "stubbornly rebellious." They rebelled against all true authority and were stubborn also, which means they would not accept correction and could not be disciplined. They were slanderers, which means they had malicious intent to damage the reputation of others. They slandered others to gain an advantage. Slander is a form of lying, which is a characteristic of Satan (John 8:44) and a violation of the Mosaic Law (Leviticus 19:16). The Lord called them "copper and iron," which means devoid of silver or gold. There was no silver or gold to refine. They were all corrupt in their dealings.
"Burnt are the bellows with fire. The end result is the lead.The picture in Jeremiah's day was of the bellows of the smelting furnace that were burnt due to continual attempts to obtain silver from the smelting. However, the end result was only lead, which was worthless. In vain, they kept trying to find silver, but they never succeeded. "The wicked" could not be separated out, i.e. in spite of the intense smelting judgment, the wicked still prevailed. No divine good was found among the people.
In vain the smelting goes on and on,
But the wicked have not been separated out." (Jeremiah 6:29)
They call them rejected silver,All the people were called "rejected silver," i.e. their production was rejected by the Lord. First, they rejected the doctrine that Jeremiah taught. Then they went into reversionism. They were "stubbornly rebellious," "slanderers," and "corrupt." Even after the suffering of Fire Testing, they were still negative to the Lord's corrective discipline. Therefore, the Lord rejected them, i.e. He delivered them over to the Fifth Cycle of Discipline.
Because the Lord has rejected them. (Jeremiah 6:30)

Step 1: When a person sins and does not Rebound, he must defend his actions in his own conscience and perhaps toward others, as well.
Step 2: Failure to Rebound means that God will reject the reversionist's sin and judge him. The reversionist who fails to Rebound at this point by denying God's discipline will have guilt. Guilt in the soul leads to subjectivity. The person with guilt will make more erroneous judgments and sin.
Step 3: If the reversionist rejects God's discipline, he will become the slave to Satan's Cosmic System. He will be wicked and evil like Satan. He will try to be like the Most High and play God.
At the Second Advent Jewish believers will be delivered from their enemies when the Lord returns to avenge the atrocities against Israel.
When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purified the blood-guiltinesses of Jerusalem from her midst, by the Spirit of judgment and the Spirit of fire testing, (Isaiah 4:4)The atrocities of war are described by Isaiah in prophetic reference to the Second Advent. The daughters of Zion are the young virgins who are left in Jerusalem. Daughters refers to a young girls. Zion refers to the temple fortress on the mountain in Jerusalem. These girls are covered with filth, which is Hebrew tso'ah and means specifically human excrement. Having been left at the mercy of invading hoards, they have been raped and abused.
The "blood-guiltinesses of Jerusalem" refers to guilt from murder. Criminality will be rampant prior to the final judgment of the Fifth Cycle of Discipline. The city of Jerusalem will receive what it justly deserves for being a city of murders. Those guilty of murder will receive swift judgment from the "Spirit of judgment," which refers Holy Spirit.
Jerusalem will also be judged by "fire testing," which is Hebrew ru^B* (ba`ar). Fire Testing refers to all the smelting judgments that were brought by the Lord to separate out the silver. If there had been enough silver, the nation would have been vindicated. With insufficient silver, the judgment of the holocaust would come.
In June 1998 Fire Testing hit Florida13 and spread to Georgia, Texas, and New Mexico. Between May 25 and July 6, 1998, the fires in Florida consumed 474,000 acres and destroyed more than 150 homes and businesses. It was noted as the worst outbreak of fires in Florida since 1933.7 And that was the year that Hitler rose to power. In Texas, over 143,000 acres were consumed by fire in May and June, 1998 and draughts were destroying crops.
On June 22 and 28, 1998 Angel Fire, New Mexico was threatened by forest fires.9 Occupants of 400 homes were evacuated.8 The fires were brought under control after significant mobilization of fire fighters and equipment. However, the significance here lies in the symbolism of the city of Angel Fire which is named for the fire angels who were administering the Fire Testing from Florida to New Mexico. Fire angels were administering the fire judgments just as the same angels will do during the Great Tribulation, which will precede the last Jewish holocaust.
The pictures of the Florida fire damage showed demolished homes in ashes with exposed metal (e.g. appliances). This is a symbol of smelting, which is designed to separate out metal. The metals that were exposed after the fires, however, were worthless metals like aluminum, tin, copper, and iron - not gold and silver.
To further emphasize the significance of the Florida Fire Testing, the same thing happened in Italy and Greece in concert with the fires in the USA. On July 4-5, 1998 more than a 100 fires broke out in Greece. Thousands of firefighters and soldiers battled the blazes which killed two people, destroyed 50 homes and damaged 50 more. A heat wave that brought wind from the Sahara Desert drove temperatures up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit.11 Similarly in Florida, a heat wave was caused by winds from the southwest - in the direction of Mexico
In southern Italy, brush fires killed two people. Fires in heat of 111 degrees Fahrenheit forced evacuation of parts of the island of Sardinia.11 Italy and Greece in Europe correspond to Texas and Florida in the USA according to the Client Nation pattern. Earlier in 1998 droughts in Mexico and Central America were responsible for 13,634 fires which destroyed over 1.25 million acres.12
I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich, and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. (Revelation 3:18, NAS)The Church at Laodicea was one of the seven churches responsible for the prosperity of the Roman Empire in 96 AD. Fire Testing was about to occur in the Church in the Roman Empire. This passage is not part of the Tribulation, which will not occur until after the Church Age (after the Rapture). However, the principle of Fire Testing established by the verse does apply because the symbolic refining of silver and gold does apply to the Jewish Age (period of the Mosaic Law) (Isaiah 4:4). So, the concept of Fire Testing will occur during the Great Tribulation, the last three and a half years of the Tribulation, which is part of the Jewish Age.
Revelation 8:5,7, NASThe events described in these verses are symbolic to enable us to understand the judgments that will be delivered upon the earth and its inhabitants. The first angel symbolically picked up hot coals from the Altar, which is representative of the Brazen Altar in the Tabernacle. When these coals were thrown to the earth, the judgments of thunder, lightning, and an earthquake occurred. Here is the revelation that angels cause thunder, lightning, and earthquakes.
5 And the angel took the censer; and he filled it with the fire of the altar and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.
7 And the first sounded, and there came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and they were thrown to the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
The judgments are described as both visible and audible. Sounds accompany the judgments. The angels usually include music. When they perform a scene on the Stage of Life, they include the orchestra. The first angel "sounded" his trumpet to announce the judgment of "hail and fire, mixed with blood." The trumpet represents justice or judgment. The thunderstorm included hail, which has been deadly in history (Exodus 9:23-25; Joshua 10:11; Revelation 16:21). However, there would also be "fire," which may have been caused by the lightning; but, from whatever the source, forest fires were started on the earth. There is no reason to believe that the "blood" mixed in these judgments refers to literal blood. Blood can also mean the color of blood, which is obviously the meaning here. Something caused the hail and fire to be the color of blood.
The explanation could be as simple as the ash in the air from the fires or from a volcano. Ash in the air often causes the sky to be blood red. There will definitely be a lot of ash in the air because a third of the earth will be burned up. Thus, there will be massive forest fires that will burn a third of all the trees on the earth. The "third" refers to the judgment of the Holy Spirit administered by angels.
Revelation 8:8-9, NASThe second angel has the power to cause fire testing with a massive underwater volcano in the ocean, which would probably be along a continental fault line. There is a potential for such a volcano to be massive. The volcano will be so big that it will contaminate a third of the seas with something the color of blood, which is often the color of the hot lava pouring from a volcano. A third of the marine life will be killed as well as a third of the ships. A large volcano in one of the oceans, e.g. the Pacific, could do this.
8 And the second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood; 9 and a third of the creatures, which were in the sea and had life, died; and a third of the ships were destroyed.
Revelation 8:10-11, NASThe third angel will control another kind of Fire Test that is described as a great star that would fall from heaven like a torch. This could be a missile, comet, or meteor. The result will be the contamination of the drinking water. A third of the rivers and springs (which includes wells) will be contaminated with poison or radioactivity called Wormwood. Wormwood was a poison that killed people prior to the Fifth Cycle of Discipline of Israel in Jeremiah's day (Jeremiah 9:15; 23:15).
10 And the third angel sounded, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of waters; 11 and the name of the star is called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
And the fourth angel sounded, and a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were smitten, so that a third of them might be darkened and the day might not shine for a third of it, and the night in the same way. (Revelation 8:12, NAS)The fourth angel will have the power to shut down a third of the light of the sun, moon, and stars. He will also have the power to shut out light for a third of the day and a third of the night. This angel is later described as the one who has the power over fire, which included the fire of the sun.
Revelation 14:18; 16:8, NASSuch power staggers the imagination. Perhaps this angel has access to the Control Room in Heaven. This is a powerful example of Fire Testing from angelic power.
18 And another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”
8 And the fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun; and it was given to it to scorch men with fire.
These verses describe the Fire Angels, who are alive today to administer Fire Tests just as they will be during the Tribulation. Just as the angels of Revelation execute divine judgment such as weather judgments with lightning and hail and Fire Testing, the same angels perform these functions today. There is no reason to believe otherwise. The evidence in 1998 left by the Florida tornadoes, such as babies alive in trees, and by the Florida fires shows that even these powerful forces were very much under the control of higher powers. The angels of God administer such judgments.
