Sign of Leo Leo

Leo, the Lion, symbolizes Jesus Christ as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, who will return at the Second Advent, conquer the enemies of Israel (Num 24:8-9, 17; Isa 13:1-16; Jer 25:30-38; Joel 1-3; Zech 14:3; Rev 5:5; 19:11-21), and rule as King (Psa 145:10-13; Isa 11; Isa 33-35; Isa 65:17-25; Dan 7:27; Zeph 3:15; Zech 14:9; Rev 2:27; 12:5; 15:3; 19:16).  Leo is symbolized by the Tribe of Judah (Gen 49:9-10).

Leo symbolizes:

  1. The King and royalty (1 Ti 6:15; Rev 17:14; 19:16)
  2. Sovereign power and authority (Matt 28:18; 26:64; Eph 1:20-22; Phil 2:9-11; Col 2:10; 1 Pet 3:22)
  3. Military might (2 Chron 32:21; Jude 14-15; Rev 19:11-21)
  4. Prince of Peace (Isa 9:6; 66:12; Eph 2:14)

  7. Throne of God (Psa 93:1-2; Rev 3:21; Rev 4, Rev 5).

Judah

Judah, the ruler of the Tribes of Israel, was symbolized by a lion (Gen 49:8-12).  Judah took the first place among the tribes (Num. 2:2, 3; 7:12; 10:14).  The Tribe of Judah camped on the east side of Tabernacle and is, therefore, identified with the Brazen Altar and Salvation, and the Red Planet, for the Blood of Christ.  Judah as leader of the Tribes of Israel became a type of Jesus Christ, the King (Gen 49:8-12), as did David (Isa 9:7; Rev 22:16) and Solomon (1 Chron 22:9-10).  Jesus Christ was descended from Judah (Matt 1:1-2, 6; Lk 1:27; 3:31).

The Lion

The lion is a symbol of the king of beasts, military mighty, a Throne Angel,2 and Satan:
  1. King of beasts (Prov 30:30).  Its mane is like a crown.
  2. Military might (Deut 33:20, 22; 2 Sa 17:10; Job 38:39-40; Psa 7:2; Prov 19:12; 20:2; 28:15; Isa 5:29; Jer 2:15; 4:7; 5:6; 25:38; 49:19; 50:17, 44; 51:38).
  3. Throne Angel2 (1 Ki 10:19-20;' Ezek 1:10; 10:14; Rev 4:7; Rev 5:5).
  4. Satan (Judg 14:5; 2 Sa 23:20; Psa 10:9; 17:12; 22:13, 21; Isa 30:6; Jer 2:30; 12:8; Lam 3:10; Dan 6:16; 2 Ti 4:17; 1 Pet 5:8).
Be sober (operate in Spiritual Self Esteem); be alert.  Your enemy, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
