Romans
Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the
purpose of salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also
to the Greek. (S/D 1782 8-10-00)
18 For the anger from God is being revealed from Heaven against all
nongodliness and anti-justice to those who suppress the truth through anti-justice
(unrighteousness),
19 because what is known about God is revealed to them; for the God
has revealed himself to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are
clearly perceived, being perspicuous through things He has created, namely,
both His eternal power and His divine nature, so that they are without
excuse.
21 Because when they knew God, they did not honor Him (Christ) as God,
nor did they feel obligated to thank Him; in fact, as a result of their
negative volition, they received worthless thoughts in their evil deliberations
(cerebrations) and their ignorant right lobe (heart) receives darkness.
22 Although they claim to be wise, they became fools,
23 and they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image
in the form of mortal mankind and of birds and quadrupeds and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity,
that their bodies might be dishonored among themselves.
25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and they worshiped
and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.
Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their
women exchanged their natural function for that which is unnatural,
27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function
of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men
committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty
of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer,
God gave them over to a degenerate mind, to do those things which are not
proper,
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil;
full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors
of evil, disobedient to parents,
31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
32 and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice
such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give
hearty approval to those who practice them.
Romans 14
8 for if we live (1cc), we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die
for the Lord; therefore whether we live or whether we die, we belong to
the Lord. (S/D 1495/6/7 4-6/7/8-99)
